01What it does

What National Women Business Owners Corporation does

Mission

Increasing competition for corporate and government contracts through certification of women, minority and veteran-owned businesses.

As stated on its FY2024 Form 990.

Programs

  1. Certification program: nation's first women business enterprise (wbe) certifier, provides a national certification program for women-owned businesses. The certificate, called "women business enterprisse" certificate, ensures that a private, for-profit company is legitimately controlled and owned 51% by women. Nwboc has been approved by the u.s. Small business administration (sba) to be a third-party certifier for women-owned small business federal contracts. The two levels of certification for "women-owned small business" (wosb) and "economically disadvantaged women-owned small business" (edwosb) will directly benefit many women-owned companies across the nation. Nwboc also certifies mbes (minority business enterprises) and vbes (veteran business enterprises).

Each line starts at 100 in 2017, so what you read is the shape rather than the size: 150 means half as much again as 2017, 50 means half. The number beside each label in the key is where it ended. The shaded band is where the middle 50% of its peers' revenue would sit, given their growth.
