01What it does

What Montana Warriors on the Water does

Mission

Our mission is providing outdoor recreational therapy and opportunities to veterans of the united states military at no cost to them. In addition to honoring our veterans by giving back, it is our goal to provide an environment for our veterans to relax and be able to meet other veterans from across the country who may be combat wounded or suffering from issues associated with the psychological effects of war. By connecting with each other and with individuals, private companies, non-profit organizations and government agencies, a community has been put in place to honor and support the vast growing number of veterans. Our goal is to ensure our veterans continue to have physical access to the country they served, in a mentally and emotionally stable environment, and are honored for their commitment and service to this nation.

As stated on its FY2025 Form 990-EZ.

Who funds it, year by year

2018 → 2023: the base broadened from 1 funder to 4 funders, grant income rose $3k → $47k.

1 of 6 of your funders are donor-advised or pass-through sponsors (tagged DAF) — 0% of grant dollars received. That money is really individual donors directing a sponsor; the institutions to cultivate are the non-DAF funders.

Funder states come from each funder’s own filing. $428 arriving through sponsors registered in 1 state is excluded from the map and the split above: a sponsor holds money on a donor’s behalf, so its registered address would place those dollars somewhere no donor need ever have been.
