01What it does

What Madrona Village School does

Mission

Madrona Village School was a unique, non-profit, independent Micro-School in the Madrona neighborhood. We fostered a nurturing, individualized learning environment that focused on core academics, Spanish language, culture, and public service. The school ceased operations at the end of the school year in June, 2024 due to decline in enrollment.

As stated on its FY2025 Form 990-EZ.

Program

  1. This return only covers a small amount of income and expense related to the closing of the school in June of 2024, however Madrona Village School had one multi-grade cohort covering 4th and 5th grade. Our curriculum balanced rigorous academics, hands-on projects, exploration, and play. Cooperative, multi-age learning encouraged critical thinking, built life skills and confidence, and fostered a lifelong love of education.

2 of 3 of your funders are donor-advised or pass-through sponsors (tagged DAF) — 11% of grant dollars received. That money is really individual donors directing a sponsor; the institutions to cultivate are the non-DAF funders.

Funder states come from each funder’s own filing. $8k arriving through sponsors registered in 2 states is excluded from the map and the split above: a sponsor holds money on a donor’s behalf, so its registered address would place those dollars somewhere no donor need ever have been.
