01What it does

What Big Leaf Montessori does

Mission

We are an approved private school and childcare center providing montessori education to children of cowlitz county, wa and surrounding areas.

As stated on its FY2025 Form 990.

Program

  1. From january to june 2024 our seven exceptional staff served 40 children ages 30 months to 12 years of age, providing quality individualized instruction using the montessori philosophy. Our elementary classroom attended field trips and outings, as well as our outdoor school trip. Our primary classroom finalized requirements for the quality recognition cycle through the washington early achievers program as well as a separate recognition process through the pacific northwest montessori association. We continue to offer extended day and summer care options for working parents. Parents report that their students make learning gains during summer care, rather than learning lost. We participate in both the state of washington and cowlitz tribal subsidy programs to expand accessibility for low-income families in our community. More than 20% of our students rely on these critical programs.

1 of 1 of your funders are donor-advised or pass-through sponsors (tagged DAF) — 100% of grant dollars received. That money is really individual donors directing a sponsor; the institutions to cultivate are the non-DAF funders.

From the IRS filings of BIG LEAF MONTESSORI’s funders (the co-funder graph). Association, not causation. Trends are read to FY2023, the last fiscal year that has finished arriving. FY2024–FY2026 are still being filed and are shown unshaded; they do not move any figure on this page.

Where its funders are

100% of BIG LEAF MONTESSORI's grant income arrives through donor-advised or pass-through sponsors, whose addresses record where the money is held rather than where the donor is. Too little is directly attributable to place on a map.

Funder states come from each funder’s own filing. $372 arriving through sponsors registered in 1 state is excluded from the map and the split above: a sponsor holds money on a donor’s behalf, so its registered address would place those dollars somewhere no donor need ever have been. Trends are read to FY2023, the last fiscal year that has finished arriving. FY2024–FY2026 are still being filed and are shown unshaded; they do not move any figure on this page.
