01What it does

What Living Free Together Inc does

Mission

Living Free Together, Inc is a nonprofit corporation organized and operated exclusively for charitable purposes, specifically to provide support to military families through events, social activities, and workshops. These services are generally provided at no cost to military couples and military families in order to help improve their quality of life and relationships with family members that experience strain due to the hardships of their military service.

As stated on its FY2025 Form 990-EZ.

Programs

  1. F.I.T. (Mentally Fit with the Intention to Thrive) events equip and empower veterans and their adult loved ones to take control of their finances, retool for better employment, access their benefits, adjust to civilian life, find a new purpose, strengthen family bonds, advocate for their changing needs as they age, contribute to society in positive ways, evaluate their own mental health status, and support their battle buddies as they face life's challenges. FIT addresses the specific goals and challenges of our veterans by equipping them with techniques and skills to build mental fitness, to achieve personal and relational goals and to cultivate healthy patterns of engagement all along the veteran journey. A total of 106 individuals participated in 9 different events in the FIT program during 2025.

  2. FEARLESS Family is a four-week family enrichment workshop combining creative and life strategy sessions for all ages designed to equip families with the relational tools necessary for a thriving future together. FEARLESS uses the vocabulary of military training to help participants understand that unit cohesion and a shared purpose can happen within their own family unit, not just in battle. FEARLESS helps participants understand the difference between parenting while under the influence of trauma and parenting outside of trauma. Our FEARLESS programs offer adult personal growth groups and mindfulness training for those who wish to continue attending sessions. Age appropriate life strategy sessions are available for children and teens weekly. We had 61 individuals participate in our FEARLESS Family event in 2025.

03Who funds it

Who funds it, year by year

2020 → 2023: the base held at 1 funder, grant income rose $21 → $37.

5 of 5 of your funders are donor-advised or pass-through sponsors (tagged DAF) — 100% of grant dollars received. That money is really individual donors directing a sponsor; the institutions to cultivate are the non-DAF funders.

From the IRS filings of LIVING FREE TOGETHER INC’s funders (the co-funder graph). Top 4 of 5 funders by total. Association, not causation. Trends are read to FY2023, the last fiscal year that has finished arriving. FY2024–FY2026 are still being filed and are shown unshaded; they do not move any figure on this page.

How concentrated its funding is

LIVING FREE TOGETHER INC leans on a few funders — its largest provides 49% of grant income and the top three 100%; half comes from just 2 funders.

the vertical line marks half of all grant income — 2 funders to its left

100% of the income these shares are computed over arrives through pass-through sponsors or from payers whose filings do not say what kind of payment it is. Concentration is still measured over all of it, because the money is real; what it does not support is a claim about how many institutions have chosen to fund LIVING FREE TOGETHER INC.

effective funders

Largest funder’s share by year: 2020 100% · 2021 100% · 2022 100% · 2023 100% — broadly stable.

“Effective funders” = inverse Herfindahl index (1 / Σ shareᵢ²) — the number of equal-sized funders that would give the same concentration. Trends are read to FY2023, the last fiscal year that has finished arriving. FY2024–FY2026 are still being filed and are shown unshaded; they do not move any figure on this page.

Where its funders are

100% of LIVING FREE TOGETHER INC's grant income arrives through donor-advised or pass-through sponsors, whose addresses record where the money is held rather than where the donor is. Too little is directly attributable to place on a map.

Funder states come from each funder’s own filing. $46k arriving through sponsors registered in 4 states is excluded from the map and the split above: a sponsor holds money on a donor’s behalf, so its registered address would place those dollars somewhere no donor need ever have been. Trends are read to FY2023, the last fiscal year that has finished arriving. FY2024–FY2026 are still being filed and are shown unshaded; they do not move any figure on this page.
