Mission
Healthy little havana supports and advocates efforts to strengthen miami's little havana neighborhood by focusing on the social determinants of health such as public space, education, employment and housing.
As stated on its FY2024 Form 990.
Programs
Public space - improved community health by activating public spaces to promote physical activity, social connection, and access to nutritious food. In 2024, healthy little havana implemented several community-led initiatives to advance environmental health and neighborhood engagement. With support from ocean conservancy, we hosted bilingual summer clean-ups and launched the rooster rumble art contest, which invited elementary students to create public art from recycled materials to raise awareness about waste and recycling. Through the que calor climate resilience campaign, funded by allegany franciscan ministries, we documented the experiences of outdoor workers and elevated their stories through public exhibits and social media, educating residents about extreme heat and environmental justice.
$35,791 spent11% of program spendingHealthcare access - expanded access to culturally and linguistically appropriate health information, services, and treatment options for little havana residents. In 2024, healthy little havana advanced community wellness through two key initiatives. Under the juntos sin barreras project with urban health partnerships, we provided bilingual hiv prevention workshops, distributed educational materials, and coordinated free testing events with local clinical partners. Concurrently, through a multi-year partnership with the university of miami's ceal project, we launched a community health worker-led intervention focused on food insecurity, research trust, and health disparities. Chws provided trusted outreach, conducted surveys, and connected residents to care and resources.
$208,365 spent61% of program spendingHousing - advanced housing stability and equity by advocating for safe, affordable, and mixed-income housing options in little havana. The organization over time
Each line starts at 100 in 2020, so what you read is the shape rather than the size: 150 means half as much again as 2020, 50 means half. The number beside each label in the key is where it ended. The shaded band is where the middle 50% of its peers' revenue would sit, given their growth.
Balance sheet
Total assets and total liabilities at each year end, in dollars. The largest one-year move in total assets was 2021 to 2022, from $71k to $218k (+206%).
How it's funded, over time
Each bar is one year's revenue split into where it came from, and every bar is the same height — these are shares, not amounts, so a year that raised twice as much looks the same size. Hover a bar for the split.
Government-grant reliance: 2020 2% · 2022 48% · 2023 61% · 2024 38%. Grants only. Government contracts and fees sit inside program revenue.
100% of LIVE HEALTHY HAVANA INC’s revenue is contributions — more reliant on donations than three-quarters of its peers (91% for the typical peer).

Who funds it, year by year
2019 → 2023: the base broadened from 1 funder to 2 funders, grant income fell $75k → $73k.
1 of 7 of your funders are donor-advised or pass-through sponsors (tagged DAF) — 18% of grant dollars received. That money is really individual donors directing a sponsor; the institutions to cultivate are the non-DAF funders.
From the IRS filings of LIVE HEALTHY HAVANA INC’s funders (the co-funder graph). Association, not causation. Trends are read to FY2023, the last fiscal year that has finished arriving. FY2024–FY2026 are still being filed and are shown unshaded; they do not move any figure on this page.
How concentrated its funding is
LIVE HEALTHY HAVANA INC leans on a few funders — its largest provides 37% of grant income and the top three 71%; half comes from just 2 funders.
the vertical line marks half of all grant income — 2 funders to its left
100% of the income these shares are computed over arrives through pass-through sponsors or from payers whose filings do not say what kind of payment it is. Concentration is still measured over all of it, because the money is real; what it does not support is a claim about how many institutions have chosen to fund LIVE HEALTHY HAVANA INC.
Largest funder’s share by year: 2019 100% · 2020 89% · 2021 100% · 2022 56% · 2023 72% — diversifying over time.
“Effective funders” = inverse Herfindahl index (1 / Σ shareᵢ²) — the number of equal-sized funders that would give the same concentration. Trends are read to FY2023, the last fiscal year that has finished arriving. FY2024–FY2026 are still being filed and are shown unshaded; they do not move any figure on this page.
Where its funders are
70% of LIVE HEALTHY HAVANA INC's grant income comes from Florida funders.
In-state vs out-of-state, by year
Funder states come from each funder’s own filing. $173k arriving through sponsors registered in 1 state is excluded from the map and the split above: a sponsor holds money on a donor’s behalf, so its registered address would place those dollars somewhere no donor need ever have been. Trends are read to FY2023, the last fiscal year that has finished arriving. FY2024–FY2026 are still being filed and are shown unshaded; they do not move any figure on this page.
