01What it does

What Lexis Voice does

Mission

Committed to the desire to support other young people who have been made to feel like their voices do not matter, Katrina and Lexi founded Lexi's Voice in November 2017. Through Lexi's Voice, youth, especially those who have been victims of sexual and/or domestic abuse or other traumas, are given the unique opportunity to find comfort and healing through ongoing interactions with animals

As stated on its FY2025 Form 990-EZ.

Program

  1. Over the last several years, we have been able to offer Fun with Friends meetups, the goal of which is to help participants make social connections, deepen existing relationships, and grow their self-confidence. During the summer, Fun with Friends takes place weekly. During the school year, it takes place approximately every-other week. All Fun with Friends sessions include a meal or snack, and most are open to family and friends. Fun with Friends activities can include fun, all-expenses-paid excursions. Destinations have included a princess tea party, the Kuehnert Dairy Farm, a train ride with ice cream, and much more. During the winter months, we often meet at a church in southeast Fort Wayne, where participants interact with our rescue rabbits and participate in games, discussions, and empowerment activities. Many of the young people we serve do not engage in outings like this on their own due to financial and other access barriers. Moreover, they may feel uncertain in large, social settings. Having Lexi's Voice friends with them makes them feel more confident. We are thrilled to provide them with these much-deserved opportunities to be playful and have fun! We also host themed…

03Who funds it

Who funds it, year by year

2019 → 2023: the base broadened from 1 funder to 6 funders, grant income rose $1k → $6k.

3 of 13 of your funders are donor-advised or pass-through sponsors (tagged DAF) — 48% of grant dollars received. That money is really individual donors directing a sponsor; the institutions to cultivate are the non-DAF funders.

From the IRS filings of LEXIS VOICE’s funders (the co-funder graph). Association, not causation. Trends are read to FY2023, the last fiscal year that has finished arriving. FY2024–FY2026 are still being filed and are shown unshaded; they do not move any figure on this page.

How concentrated its funding is

LEXIS VOICE has a broad base — no single funder exceeds 32% of grant income, and it takes 3 funders to reach half.

the vertical line marks half of all grant income — 3 funders to its left

48% of the income these shares are computed over arrives through pass-through sponsors or from payers whose filings do not say what kind of payment it is. Concentration is still measured over all of it, because the money is real; what it does not support is a claim about how many institutions have chosen to fund LEXIS VOICE.

Largest funder’s share by year: 2019 100% · 2020 42% · 2021 40% · 2022 69% · 2023 25% — diversifying over time.

“Effective funders” = inverse Herfindahl index (1 / Σ shareᵢ²) — the number of equal-sized funders that would give the same concentration. Trends are read to FY2023, the last fiscal year that has finished arriving. FY2024–FY2026 are still being filed and are shown unshaded; they do not move any figure on this page.

How long its funders stay

67% of LEXIS VOICE's funders are still giving 3 years after their first grant; 46% give in more than one year at all.

first grant+1y+2y+3y

Share of funders still giving k years after their first recorded grant, pooled across every acquisition cohort. A funder counts as retained in a year only if it made a grant that year. Measured to FY2023, the last fiscal year that has finished arriving — a funder cannot be counted as lapsed in a year most filers have not reached.

Where its funders are

56% of LEXIS VOICE's grant income comes from Indiana funders.

Funder states come from each funder’s own filing. $30k arriving through sponsors registered in 3 states is excluded from the map and the split above: a sponsor holds money on a donor’s behalf, so its registered address would place those dollars somewhere no donor need ever have been.
