01What it does

What Kingdom First Ministries does

Mission

2nd mile exists to bless deserving members of the community with life- changing home/school makeovers. We delight in being the vehicle through which god meets the needs of families and organizations who have, in turn, given so generously of their time to others. We were founded in 2003 and spent 10 years doing projects in low-income areas in the san francisco bay area. In 2013, 2nd mile re-located to the denver metro area where we are now loving on and serving the great people in the state of colorado.

As stated on its FY2018 Form 990-EZ.

Program

After a successful year in 2017, the organization embarked on and executed two great projects in 2018. During the spring months and culminating over a weekend with a couple hundred volunteers in may, we were able to bless the glover family with a comprehensive home and landscape renovation and redecorating. Similarly, the principle of ambleside elementary and his family were the recipients of a complete home project in the fall months. Faced with a challenging medical situation with their young daughter, 2ndmile was able to be a tangible expression of gods love for their family both inside and outside their home to make life a little easier and more suitable for her condition that keeps her in a wheelchair permanently. We are truly grateful for the tremendous amount of time, money and support offered by the 2ndmile community to help others this past year.

The first program described on its most recent Form 990-EZ.

03Who funds it

Who funds it, year by year

2017 → 2019: the base narrowed from 3 funders to 1 funder, grant income fell $57k → $8k.

4 of 5 of your funders are donor-advised or pass-through sponsors (tagged DAF) — 92% of grant dollars received. That money is really individual donors directing a sponsor; the institutions to cultivate are the non-DAF funders.

From the IRS filings of KINGDOM FIRST MINISTRIES’s funders (the co-funder graph). Association, not causation. Trends are read to FY2023, the last fiscal year that has finished arriving. FY2024–FY2026 are still being filed and are shown unshaded; they do not move any figure on this page.

How concentrated its funding is

KINGDOM FIRST MINISTRIES leans on a few funders — its largest provides 48% of grant income and the top three 82%; half comes from just 2 funders.

the vertical line marks half of all grant income — 2 funders to its left

92% of the income these shares are computed over arrives through pass-through sponsors or from payers whose filings do not say what kind of payment it is. Concentration is still measured over all of it, because the money is real; what it does not support is a claim about how many institutions have chosen to fund KINGDOM FIRST MINISTRIES.

Largest funder’s share by year: 2017 46% · 2018 56% · 2019 100% — growing more concentrated.

“Effective funders” = inverse Herfindahl index (1 / Σ shareᵢ²) — the number of equal-sized funders that would give the same concentration. Trends are read to FY2023, the last fiscal year that has finished arriving. FY2024–FY2026 are still being filed and are shown unshaded; they do not move any figure on this page.

Where its funders are

92% of KINGDOM FIRST MINISTRIES's grant income arrives through donor-advised or pass-through sponsors, whose addresses record where the money is held rather than where the donor is. Of the $12k that is directly attributable, 100% of it comes from California funders.

California out of state home

Funder states come from each funder’s own filing. $134k arriving through sponsors registered in 4 states is excluded from the map and the split above: a sponsor holds money on a donor’s behalf, so its registered address would place those dollars somewhere no donor need ever have been. Trends are read to FY2023, the last fiscal year that has finished arriving. FY2024–FY2026 are still being filed and are shown unshaded; they do not move any figure on this page.
