Mission

Our mission is to support the youth of Yuma County because we care about our community and the futures of our children. We reach out to children in need of kindness. Our organization assists families during times of economic hardship, emotional turmoil, trauma, etc. We are a resource for teachers, who are the eyes and ears of our children. Programs

Exceptional Hospital serviced approximately 1,000 childre and OnVida Health Hospital has approximately 600 children that were admitted. We stock each facility with gender/age specific Pediatric CuddleKits. Every Pediatric CuddleKit is a child-friendly pillowcase filled with comfort and activity items such as a stuffed animal, a coloring book, a reading book, crayons, new socks, etc. Each CuddleKit contains a blank thank you card and every child is encouraged to write a thank you to someone in their life to pay the kindness forward.

Each CuddleKit is child specific but includes items such as shoes, clothing, hygiene items, blanket, comfort items, educational items, school supplies, etc. Each CuddleKit includes a bracelet and a Pay It Forward form where the child is encouraged to pass the bracelet on and complete the form. Kindness Day was a spectacular day filled with unique opportunities, treats, games, and a visit from Santa. The children got to participate in activities that included jumpers, public service presentations, face painting, lunch, gift stations, outdoor activies, and give & candy stations. Each child that participated was gifted with a special CuddleKit filled with a new pair of shoes, a hoodie sweatshirt, a fleece blanket,a book and a wrapped gift from their wish list. There was also a decorating station where each child decorated a cookie and an ornament. The child kept the cookie. The ornament was for someone else and later delivered to a local nursing home. That was the "pay it forward" piece in Kindness Makes a Difference Day.
