What Justice Revival Inc does
Mission
To inspire, educate, and mobilize Christian communities to respond faithfully to the call to justice by standing in solidarity with the oppressed and defending the human rights of all.
As stated on its FY2024 Form 990-EZ.
Programs
The Faith4ERA Education & Advocacy Campaign: In 2024, Justice Revival continued to lead an historic interfaith campaign for women's rights and gender equality in our nation's constitution. The Faith4ERA campaign advocates for recognition of the Equal Rights Amendment (ERA) as the duly ratified 28th Amendment. Justice Revival continued to promote an interfaith statement of support of the ERA and actively recruited support for an advocacy letter, signed by 60 faith organizations and led by our allies at NCJW. We educated our constituents and the public about the ERA's importance as a basic human rights provision and led digital advocacy actions calling on Congress and the White House to acknowledge and uphold the ERA. Justice Revival provided educational presentations about the pressing need for recognition of the Equal Rights Amendment to religious, civic, and private sector audiences across the country.

In addition to web-based and digital education, Justice Revival also co-sponsored an in-person "Red Letter Revival" event in Philadelphia, led by our allies at Red Letter Christians. The event highlighted the crucial role of the Black Church in the story of America's democracy and featured womanist preachers who delivered messages on the centrality of love and justice.

The organization over time
Each line starts at 100 in 2019, so what you read is the shape rather than the size: 150 means half as much again as 2019, 50 means half. The number beside each label in the key is where it ended. The shaded band is where the middle 50% of its peers' revenue would sit, given their growth.
Balance sheet
Total assets and total liabilities at each year end, in dollars. The largest one-year move in total assets was 2019 to 2020, from $34k to $75k (+118%).
How it's funded, over time
Each bar is one year's revenue split into where it came from, and every bar is the same height — these are shares, not amounts, so a year that raised twice as much looks the same size. Hover a bar for the split.
100% of Justice Revival Inc’s revenue is contributions — more reliant on donations than three-quarters of its peers (100% for the typical peer).
Surplus & reserves
Operating surplus or deficit each year, and months of liquidity in hand. 3 of the last 6 reported years ran a deficit.

Who funds it, year by year
2018 → 2023: the base broadened from 1 funder to 3 funders, grant income rose $5k → $26k.
3 of 7 of your funders are donor-advised or pass-through sponsors (tagged DAF) — 71% of grant dollars received. That money is really individual donors directing a sponsor; the institutions to cultivate are the non-DAF funders.
From the IRS filings of Justice Revival Inc’s funders (the co-funder graph). Association, not causation. Trends are read to FY2023, the last fiscal year that has finished arriving. FY2024–FY2026 are still being filed and are shown unshaded; they do not move any figure on this page.
How concentrated its funding is
Justice Revival Inc leans on a few funders — its largest provides 65% of grant income and the top three 91%; half comes from just 1 funder.
the vertical line marks half of all grant income — 1 funder to its left
71% of the income these shares are computed over arrives through pass-through sponsors or from payers whose filings do not say what kind of payment it is. Concentration is still measured over all of it, because the money is real; what it does not support is a claim about how many institutions have chosen to fund Justice Revival Inc.
Largest funder’s share by year: 2018 100% · 2019 100% · 2020 41% · 2021 66% · 2022 92% · 2023 96% — diversifying over time.
“Effective funders” = inverse Herfindahl index (1 / Σ shareᵢ²) — the number of equal-sized funders that would give the same concentration. Trends are read to FY2023, the last fiscal year that has finished arriving. FY2024–FY2026 are still being filed and are shown unshaded; they do not move any figure on this page.
Where its funders are
71% of Justice Revival Inc's grant income arrives through donor-advised or pass-through sponsors, whose addresses record where the money is held rather than where the donor is. Of the $45k that is directly attributable, 100% of it comes from funders outside Washington, D.C., across 4 states.
In-state vs out-of-state, by year
Funder states come from each funder’s own filing. $112k arriving through sponsors registered in 3 states is excluded from the map and the split above: a sponsor holds money on a donor’s behalf, so its registered address would place those dollars somewhere no donor need ever have been. Trends are read to FY2023, the last fiscal year that has finished arriving. FY2024–FY2026 are still being filed and are shown unshaded; they do not move any figure on this page.
