Programs

  1. Diaper Bank - The Junior League of Rochester Diaper Bank addresses need in Monroe County, as well as surrounding counties, by providing diapers and diapering supplies to partnership organizations and social workers. This is an all volunteer run operation. We collect diapers (including open packages and loose diapers), pull-ups, training pants, wipes, and diaper creams. We also collect monetary donations, which are used to purchase these supplies at deep discounts. Currently, we are distributing 20,500 diapers per month to our partners.

  2. Done-in-a-day (DIAD) Volunteer Opportunities for Members and Member Trainings - The DIADs program is designed to offer highly flexible, one-day volunteer opportunities that allow participants to make a meaningful impact without a long-term commitment. Unlike other programs that may require extensive planning and budgeting, DIADs are typically focused on quick, impactful service projects that can be completed in a single day. These activities are varied, often responding to immediate community needs, and allow volunteers to engage in a wide range of service areas. This makes DIADs one of our top three programs, standing out due to their adaptability and the immediate difference they make in our community. Training has been placed at the core of AJLI's mission. Taken directly from their website it states, "The core of our mission is advancing women's leadership for meaningful community impact through volunteer action, collaboration, and training'. This is why we believe training should be considered one of our three largest programs currently. Some expamples of training offered to our members within this physical year were Leadership Trainings, Winter Training, Women's Health Panel…

03Who funds it

Who funds it, year by year

2020 → 2023: the base held at 1 funder, grant income rose $105 → $174.

2 of 3 of your funders are donor-advised or pass-through sponsors (tagged DAF) — 84% of grant dollars received. That money is really individual donors directing a sponsor; the institutions to cultivate are the non-DAF funders.

From the IRS filings of Junior League Of Rochester Inc’s funders (the co-funder graph). Association, not causation. Trends are read to FY2023, the last fiscal year that has finished arriving. FY2024–FY2026 are still being filed and are shown unshaded; they do not move any figure on this page.

How concentrated its funding is

Junior League Of Rochester Inc leans on a few funders — its largest provides 79% of grant income and the top three 100%; half comes from just 1 funder.

the vertical line marks half of all grant income — 1 funder to its left

84% of the income these shares are computed over arrives through pass-through sponsors or from payers whose filings do not say what kind of payment it is. Concentration is still measured over all of it, because the money is real; what it does not support is a claim about how many institutions have chosen to fund Junior League Of Rochester Inc.

“Effective funders” = inverse Herfindahl index (1 / Σ shareᵢ²) — the number of equal-sized funders that would give the same concentration. Trends are read to FY2023, the last fiscal year that has finished arriving. FY2024–FY2026 are still being filed and are shown unshaded; they do not move any figure on this page.

Where its funders are

84% of Junior League Of Rochester Inc's grant income arrives through donor-advised or pass-through sponsors, whose addresses record where the money is held rather than where the donor is. Of the $2k that is directly attributable, 100% of it comes from New York funders.

NY

Funder states come from each funder’s own filing. $11k arriving through sponsors registered in 2 states is excluded from the map and the split above: a sponsor holds money on a donor’s behalf, so its registered address would place those dollars somewhere no donor need ever have been. Trends are read to FY2023, the last fiscal year that has finished arriving. FY2024–FY2026 are still being filed and are shown unshaded; they do not move any figure on this page.
