01What it does

What Iowa Chamber Music Collective Corp does

Mission

The Iowa Chamber Music Collective desires to make chamber music accessible to all, by uniting families and students with music education, specifically string performance, to further the opportunity for young people from low income families to learn and practice music, and to promote chamber and orchestra music in the greater Cedar Valley community.

As stated on its FY2025 Form 990-EZ.

Programs

  1. The Iowa Chamber Music Collective held a week long summer camp, developing partnerships between individuals and families from different backgrounds by creating and experiencing music. The campers break up into sections to work on the pieces and receive more one on one instruction, then come together as an orchestra to practice together. The camp culminates in a concert on the last day for friends and family members. We serve students in grades 4 through 8 who are beginning to intermediate string musicians from the Cedar Valley. We offered scholarships to 5 students to attend the camp. The summer music camp allowed underserved student musicians to experience quality instruction and performance. Grant monies were used to help fund the summer camp.

There were 13 talented local musicians that participated in the concerts over the year in total. Over 300 individuals enjoyed the concerts held at these events.
