Programs

  1. Pregnancy education and parenting program: heart to heart's pregnancy education and parenting classes are part of the live and learn program formerly called the empowered parenting program ("epp"). The goal of this program is to educate clients throughout their pregnancy and beyond, into early childhood. The classes teach many areas concerning newborn care, caring for the mother after labor and delivery, the prevention of accidents as well as illnesses and nutrition. Epp class concepts span from preparing for motherhood through pre-natal care and bonding with their baby, the birthing processs itself and breastfeeding, to infant and post-natal care. During each class, the client is tested both before and after the lesson to ensure retention and understanding. After the client completes each class, she is awarded 50 "points". These points can be redeemed for baby items such as diapers, bottles, clothes, formula, toys, blankets and other essentials. After completing ten classes and accumulating 500 points, clients are able to redeem their points for a new car seat.

  2. Medical program: medical and counseling clients are seen by heart to heart's registered nursing staff. The goal of the program is to educate and to assist the client in making an informed decision about her pregnancy options. Clients are encouraged to share their story with the nurse as a neutral and confidential party. Nurses provide a wealth of knowledge regarding pregnancy options, contact information for resources in the community, as well as referrals to ob-gyn doctors for ongoing pre-natal care. Nurses offer basic prenatal teaching as well as free prenatal vitamins. Clients who are undecided regarding their pregnancy outcome are encouraged to work through a decision guide with the nurse. Ultrasounds are offered for women to see how far along they are in their pregnancy, determine if the pregnancy is viable and provide an opportunity to bond with their baby in utero, all free of charge.

During the summer, classes are offered for 4th to 6th grades. In the four day course, students are taught age appropriate lessons on health, relationships, leadership and abstinence.

03Who funds it

Who funds it, year by year

2020 → 2023: the base narrowed from 3 funders to 1 funder, grant income fell $5k → $82.

3 of 4 of your funders are donor-advised or pass-through sponsors (tagged DAF) — 100% of grant dollars received. That money is really individual donors directing a sponsor; the institutions to cultivate are the non-DAF funders.

From the IRS filings of HEART TO HEART A PREGNANCY RESOURCE’s funders (the co-funder graph). Association, not causation. Trends are read to FY2023, the last fiscal year that has finished arriving. FY2024–FY2026 are still being filed and are shown unshaded; they do not move any figure on this page.

How concentrated its funding is

HEART TO HEART A PREGNANCY RESOURCE leans on a few funders — its largest provides 49% of grant income and the top three 100%; half comes from just 2 funders.

the vertical line marks half of all grant income — 2 funders to its left

100% of the income these shares are computed over arrives through pass-through sponsors or from payers whose filings do not say what kind of payment it is. Concentration is still measured over all of it, because the money is real; what it does not support is a claim about how many institutions have chosen to fund HEART TO HEART A PREGNANCY RESOURCE.

Largest funder’s share by year: 2020 96% · 2021 100% · 2022 100% · 2023 100% — growing more concentrated.

“Effective funders” = inverse Herfindahl index (1 / Σ shareᵢ²) — the number of equal-sized funders that would give the same concentration. Trends are read to FY2023, the last fiscal year that has finished arriving. FY2024–FY2026 are still being filed and are shown unshaded; they do not move any figure on this page.

Where its funders are

100% of HEART TO HEART A PREGNANCY RESOURCE's grant income arrives through donor-advised or pass-through sponsors, whose addresses record where the money is held rather than where the donor is. Of the $50 that is directly attributable, 100% of it comes from funders outside Wyoming, across 1 state.

MT

Funder states come from each funder’s own filing. $11k arriving through sponsors registered in 3 states is excluded from the map and the split above: a sponsor holds money on a donor’s behalf, so its registered address would place those dollars somewhere no donor need ever have been. Trends are read to FY2023, the last fiscal year that has finished arriving. FY2024–FY2026 are still being filed and are shown unshaded; they do not move any figure on this page.
