01What it does

What Grid3 Inc does

Mission

Grid3 works with countries in sub-saharan africa to generate, validate, and use core spatial datasets on population, settlements, subnational boundaries, and crucial infrastructure. We train and support stakeholders who use this information for analytics and decision-making, and work closely with local governments to improve national ownership and sustainability of the data.

As stated on its FY2024 Form 990.

Programs

On its FY2023 return the organization reported starting a significant new program.

We received $20.3 milion in funding from bmgf for the grid3 - phase 2 scaling program described below.

  1. Grid3 phase 2 - seed and bridge funding: in 2023, the grid3 phase 2 - seed and bridge funding program supported governments across sub-saharan africa to create core spatial data solutions that improve health outcomes.
