Mission

Dr. Wil transitioned from 28 years of a rural private practice in the usa after deciding to lifetime volunteer his time and medical / teaching skills for the benefit of others. He had deep humanitarian ideals that needed fertile soil to flourish. He also desired to help the impoverished of central america and provide a heart and mind changing experience for trip participants from other cultures. Gmt was founded in 2003 and began trips jan 2004. We are a legally registered non-profit organization in costa rica. We based our organization there and have expanded to serve in nicaragua, panama, mexico, and the dominican republic. Objectives: to provide, as a team, free medical and dental healthcare services, and free medicines to the needy in latin america to teach students basic clinical skills, basic medical / dental knowledge, and the art of medicine, in preparation for and during im

As stated on its FY2025 Form 990.

Program

  1. Provide humanitarian services in central american countries such as free medical-dental services by organizing multiple medical trips which consist of a group 15 to 40 medical students for a period of one to two weeks. Patients in these countries receive free healthcare while the students gain first hand experience working at the clinics under a physician or trained medical professional for non-clinical services.
