01What it does

What Girls Rock Indianapolis Inc does

Mission

Empower youth and women through mentoring and music education.

As stated on its FY2024 Form 990-EZ.

Programs

  1. In 2025 we served 87 youth over a 2 week period. The campers learned bass, drums, guitar, keyboards or vocals, formed bands, and wrote a song together over the course of the camp, which they played at a showcase in front of over 100 people. Since 2024 we have added a DJ track to the camp as well as a track for younger kids (Age 6-8, vs. 9-16 for our traditional camp).

  2. The Girls Rock Camp Alliance (GRCA) is a worldwide network of rock camps. The GRCA annual meeting was brought back in 2025 after a hiatus since 2020 and Girls Rock Indianapolis sent 4 people to the conference. This was a valuable opportunity to network with our sister camps. It was also an educational opportunity for our members, as they attended workshops and seminars with a wide-range of subjects pertaining to the work GRI does.

  3. We support the WooGrl music festival as a fiscal sponsor. In 2025, money was spent to keep the branding.

Each line starts at 100 in 2021, so what you read is the shape rather than the size: 150 means half as much again as 2021, 50 means half. The number beside each label in the key is where it ended. The shaded band is where the middle 50% of its peers' revenue would sit, given their growth.

Funder states come from each funder’s own filing. $8k arriving through sponsors registered in 2 states is excluded from the map and the split above: a sponsor holds money on a donor’s behalf, so its registered address would place those dollars somewhere no donor need ever have been.
