Programs
Communities in motion - this program, implemented in four cities, aims to help teenagers develop critical thinking skills that empower them to become active members of society. By addressing personal and community pain, participants work to transform these experiences into actionable community projects that foster progress. A key outcome of this program is to empower students who have traditionally been silent, shy, or rebellious to awaken and harmonize their unique voices. Through our methodology, they can integrate conflicting thoughts and feelings, turning inaction into bold ideas that can transform both their own lives and their communities.

The mission of raíces fuertes is to transform the experience of immigrant families - often marked by fear, guilt, and isolation - into a conscious, empowering, and resilient process of encounter. Through this program, they promote a "culture of encounters" that helps strengthen self-confidence, support emotional regulation, and foster effective communication within families. Their goal is for each family to build a shared path rooted in diversity, strengthening their roots and creating strong bonds that unite hearts and enrich the broader community.

Its mission is to equip participants with essential life skills for navigating their inner and outer worlds. This structure strengthens key personal competencies: enhancing emotional awareness, refining communication skills (including empathetic dialogue), and building robust conflict resolution abilities through non-violent negotiation. Ultimately, sc empowers students to cultivate a sophisticated awareness of their world inside them and around them-fostering both introspection and a critical, compassionate understanding of their community and global context. Our main goal is to guide students to deeply align their thoughts, feelings, into coherent actions that can create purpose. This process builds a life of meaning and personal fulfillment oriented towards the greater good.

Inspired by pope francis' encyclical fratelli tutti and delivered through the scholas occurrentes pedagogy, the program integrates experiential learning, civic engagement, intercultural dialogue, and community-based action to cultivate holistic leadership. Through this program, students will develop inclusive leadership skills by engaging directly with community-based organizations that present real social problems and showcase innovative solutions. We also bring in our network of political leaders to teach two masterclasses, enriching the student experience by demonstrating how the government addresses these challenges.

The organization over time
Each line starts at 100 in 2023, so what you read is the shape rather than the size: 150 means half as much again as 2023, 50 means half. The number beside each label in the key is where it ended.

Total assets and total liabilities at each year end, in dollars. The largest one-year move in total assets was 2024 to 2025, from $21k to $297k (+1302%).
How it's funded, over time
Each bar is one year's revenue split into where it came from, and every bar is the same height — these are shares, not amounts, so a year that raised twice as much looks the same size. Hover a bar for the split.

Who funds it, year by year
Grant support over time, funder by funder — shade shows the grant size each year.
2 of 5 of your funders are donor-advised or pass-through sponsors (tagged DAF) — 61% of grant dollars received. That money is really individual donors directing a sponsor; the institutions to cultivate are the non-DAF funders.

How concentrated its funding is
FUNDACION SCHOLAS OCCURRENTES - USA leans on a few funders — its largest provides 55% of grant income and the top three 95%; half comes from just 1 funder.
the vertical line marks half of all grant income — 1 funder to its left
95% of the income these shares are computed over arrives through pass-through sponsors or from payers whose filings do not say what kind of payment it is. Concentration is still measured over all of it, because the money is real; what it does not support is a claim about how many institutions have chosen to fund FUNDACION SCHOLAS OCCURRENTES - USA.
“Effective funders” = inverse Herfindahl index (1 / Σ shareᵢ²) — the number of equal-sized funders that would give the same concentration. Trends are read to FY2023, the last fiscal year that has finished arriving. FY2024–FY2026 are still being filed and are shown unshaded; they do not move any figure on this page.
Where its funders are
61% of FUNDACION SCHOLAS OCCURRENTES - USA's grant income arrives through donor-advised or pass-through sponsors, whose addresses record where the money is held rather than where the donor is. Of the $210k that is directly attributable, 100% of it comes from California funders.
Funder states come from each funder’s own filing. $332k arriving through sponsors registered in 2 states is excluded from the map and the split above: a sponsor holds money on a donor’s behalf, so its registered address would place those dollars somewhere no donor need ever have been. Trends are read to FY2023, the last fiscal year that has finished arriving. FY2024–FY2026 are still being filed and are shown unshaded; they do not move any figure on this page.
