01What it does

What Feminem Foundation does

Mission

The Feminem Foundation advances equitable reproductive healthcare by providing emergency medicine professionals with education, research, resources, and support to improve patient outcomes and advance women in medicine.

As stated on its FY2025 Form 990.

Programs

  1. Reproductive health education - we developed accessible digital modules that provided real-time clinical guidance and state-specific legal updates, filling a critical training gap left by traditional medical education. This reproductive health education initiative equipped over 200 emergency medicine physicians with the essential knowledge and tools they need to provide timely, evidence-based care for patients experiencing pregnancy-related emergencies. In addition, we are actively working with providers on the ground to expand access to mifepristone for both elective abortion and miscarriage management in states where it remains legally feasible. Recognizing the medication's safety, efficacy, and critical role in comprehensive reproductive care, we are partnering with clinicians, health systems, and legal experts to ensure emergency physicians understand when and how they can prescribe and support its use. By providing clear clinical protocols and up-to-date guidance, we empower providers to offer patients timely, evidence-based options, reducing unnecessary interventions and aligning emergency care with best practices and patient autonomy.

  2. Physician outreach program - feminem's texas outreach program is the first step in delivering state-specific, clinically focused reproductive health education to emergency physicians practicing under restrictive laws. Envisioned in response to the unique challenges facing providers in texas, this initiative equips clinicians with clear, legally informed guidance on managing pregnancy-related emergencies, including miscarriage, ectopic pregnancy, and post-abortion care. By collaborating with lawyers who are experts in this space, the program ensures that emergency physicians understand how to deliver safe, timely, and compliant care, minimizing harm to patients and protecting clinicians in complex legal environments. In 2025, this program supported over 1500 physicians and increased their confidence of legal and safe care for patients experiencing first trimester pregnancy emergencies.

  3. Medical student education and physician mentorship - in 2025 we held the first cohort of our champions of change program, a program for medical students interested in becoming changemakers in emergency medicine and reproductive health. Over 100 students in 17 different states participated and gained skills to advocate for their patient's healthcare needs. We also partnered with women in medicine to co-host the power of women in medicine summit held in september 2025. Together, we provided attendees with actionable strategies, mentorship opportunities, and a platform to drive systematic change in healthcare.
