What Family Health Initiatives Inc does

Mission

Our mission is to help hospitals, nonprofits and government improve the health and well being of communities.

As stated on its FY2024 Form 990.

Programs

  1. Pra/spect outreach & education: the new jersey department of health supports evidenced based programs to improve the health and well being of pregnant women and young children in all counties in the state. A core component of identifying the needs of fragile families is access to the best program for each family based on the family's needs and the community's resources. The pra serves as an entry and monitoring point for these quality programs across new jersey. (continued on schedule o)

  2. Alma: millions of pregnant and parenting people are diagnosed with mood disorders, anxiety, depression, post-traumatic stress disorder, substance misuse or other mental health issues every year - and these issues are much more likely to affect women of color. Perinatal mental health (pmh) conditions are the most common complications of pregnancy and childbirth, affecting 1 in 5 women (800,000 women each year in the united states), and maternal mental health problems are a leading cause of maternal death. The issues know no geographic borders and affect urban, suburban, and rural (continued on schedule o)

  3. Maternal, infant, & early childhood home visiting (miechv) family health initiatives in partnership with new jersey are highlighted here. These organizations are implementing coordinated intake and referral systems to connect families to the most appropriate home visiting services. These projects aim to increase and streamline referrals for both families and providers within the community and allow for a more efficient use of local resources, while also managing and tracking referrals and outcomes. Data dashboards are interactive tools for tracking, analyzing, and displaying performance measures, metrics, and data; they can help monitor progress, processes, and outcomes and offer a comprehensive overview of data to inform decisions and actions.

03Who funds it

Who funds it, year by year

2017 → 2022: the base held at 1 funder, grant income rose $5k → $51k.

1 of 2 of your funders are donor-advised or pass-through sponsors (tagged DAF) — 9% of grant dollars received. That money is really individual donors directing a sponsor; the institutions to cultivate are the non-DAF funders.

From the IRS filings of FAMILY HEALTH INITIATIVES INC’s funders (the co-funder graph). Association, not causation. Trends are read to FY2023, the last fiscal year that has finished arriving. FY2024–FY2026 are still being filed and are shown unshaded; they do not move any figure on this page.

How concentrated its funding is

FAMILY HEALTH INITIATIVES INC leans on a few funders — its largest provides 91% of grant income and the top three 100%; half comes from just 1 funder.

Trends are read to FY2023, the last fiscal year that has finished arriving. FY2024–FY2026 are still being filed and are shown unshaded; they do not move any figure on this page.

Where its funders are

100% of FAMILY HEALTH INITIATIVES INC's grant income comes from New Jersey funders.

NJ

Funder states come from each funder’s own filing. $5k arriving through sponsors registered in 1 state is excluded from the map and the split above: a sponsor holds money on a donor’s behalf, so its registered address would place those dollars somewhere no donor need ever have been. Trends are read to FY2023, the last fiscal year that has finished arriving. FY2024–FY2026 are still being filed and are shown unshaded; they do not move any figure on this page.
