Mission
About Us: evolutionforward is an education network (nonprofit) dedicated to promoting, protecting, and advancing the health and wellbeing of children and their families directly (e.g. programs) and indirectly (e.g. research). Our interdisciplinary group was formed for the purpose of improving child-caretaker wellbeing and educational equity in the United States (U.S.) and outlying territories. Activities and programs are designed to support children and families who are at predictable risk for deleterious outcomes and to mobilize intergenerational, multicultural family and community resilience. Focus Areas: Network leaders collaborate to develop, guide, and/or participate in small-scale, high-impact projects based on scientific evidence that promote healthy child development (e.g., education, neuroscience), parent wellbeing (e.g., public health, social determinants), and the establishment of non-violence as the norm in the U. S. (e.g. healing, culture).
As stated on its FY2025 Form 990-EZ.
Programs
Creating and Distributing Educational Materials & Leadership Promotion: evolutionforward continued its commitment to open access education by creating and distributing a range of resources for parents, professionals, and young people. Leveraging digital platforms, including social media, email, and our website, we shared vital insights on topics such as intergenerational wellbeing and non-violence. A key element of this program involved promoting our network leaders and partners who offer various educational opportunities. We try to showcase their expertise and contributions via individual and group profiles on platforms like Instagram, our newsletter, and live events thereby fostering connection, highlighting diverse voices, and making high quality opportunities as accessible as possible to the public at low or no cost.
$6,250 spent24% of program spendingDance & Learn Community Events: Building on our past pilot programs, evolutionforward expanded its interactive "Dance & Learn" initiative to include community events in key urban centers such as The Bronx, NYC and in rural areas alike. These classes welcomed people with a wide range of abilities and utilized movement and creative expression as accessible tools for exploring themes of non-violence and positive social interaction. By engaging directly with diverse communities, these events aim to foster a culture of safety and understanding through participatory experiences that promote both physical and emotional wellbeing.
$8,500 spent32% of program spendingChildren's Book & Associated Activities: A significant, ongoing program focus is the development of our children's books and associated programs (ex "Dancing Storytime!" events). This included the development of original music to accompany our Afrolatin children's book at story times as well as engaging activities designed to promote early learning and positive family and community interactions. These initiatives aim to directly support children and caretaker development and strengthen the caretaker-child bond through accessible and enriching storytelling experiences that center cultural exchange.
$7,000 spent27% of program spendingStrategic Partnership Development: evolutionforward dedicated resources to cultivating strategic partnerships with organizations operating in relevant geographies and on a national scale (ex Bronx Music Heritage Center). These collaborations are crucial for amplifying our impact and advancing our shared goals in child-parent wellbeing and educational equity. By forging strong alliances with like-minded entities, we aimed to create a more comprehensive and effective network to support children and families at predictable risk, and to mobilize community resilience across diverse settings.

The organization over time
Each line starts at 100 in 2023, so what you read is the shape rather than the size: 150 means half as much again as 2023, 50 means half. The number beside each label in the key is where it ended. The shaded band is where the middle 50% of its peers' revenue would sit, given their growth.
Balance sheet
Total assets and total liabilities at each year end, in dollars. The largest one-year move in total assets was 2024 to 2025, from $2k to $20k (+1147%).
How it's funded, over time
Each bar is one year's revenue split into where it came from, and every bar is the same height — these are shares, not amounts, so a year that raised twice as much looks the same size. Hover a bar for the split.
100% of EVOLUTION FORWARD INCORPORATED’s revenue is contributions — more reliant on donations than three-quarters of its peers (100% for the typical peer).

From the IRS filings of EVOLUTION FORWARD INCORPORATED’s funders (the co-funder graph). Association, not causation. Trends are read to FY2023, the last fiscal year that has finished arriving. FY2024–FY2026 are still being filed and are shown unshaded; they do not move any figure on this page.
How concentrated its funding is
EVOLUTION FORWARD INCORPORATED leans on a few funders — its largest provides 83% of grant income and the top three 100%; half comes from just 1 funder.
the vertical line marks half of all grant income — 1 funder to its left
100% of the income these shares are computed over arrives through pass-through sponsors or from payers whose filings do not say what kind of payment it is. Concentration is still measured over all of it, because the money is real; what it does not support is a claim about how many institutions have chosen to fund EVOLUTION FORWARD INCORPORATED.
“Effective funders” = inverse Herfindahl index (1 / Σ shareᵢ²) — the number of equal-sized funders that would give the same concentration. Trends are read to FY2023, the last fiscal year that has finished arriving. FY2024–FY2026 are still being filed and are shown unshaded; they do not move any figure on this page.
