What Equal Voice Action does
Mission
To engage, connect, and build power among poor and low-income families to influence policies that improve the economic and social well-being of all families. We believe families are the experts on the issues that affect their daily lives and are, therefore, the best solution providers. We believe that families, united, will change the policies that perpetuate poverty.
As stated on its FY2020 Form 990.
Program
Community Based Pilot Projects - During the first quarter of 2020, Equal Voice Action continued its community-based project with Ubuntu Village in Louisiana. Ubuntu Village sought to engage court-involved families and allies as shared Ubuntu/EVA members, support them through direct advocacy services, and train and mobilize them as "Parent Navigators" and community leaders who can lead knowledge-building, community organizing, and collective advocacy for policy change.
The first program described on its most recent Form 990, which lists programs largest first by expense.
The organization over time
Each line starts at 100 in 2017, so what you read is the shape rather than the size: 150 means half as much again as 2017, 50 means half. The number beside each label in the key is where it ended.
Balance sheet
Total assets and total liabilities at each year end, in dollars. The largest one-year move in total assets was 2017 to 2018, from $980k to $629k (−36%).
How it's funded, over time
Each bar is one year's revenue split into where it came from, and every bar is the same height — these are shares, not amounts, so a year that raised twice as much looks the same size. Hover a bar for the split.
Surplus & reserves
Operating surplus or deficit each year, and months of liquidity in hand. 3 of the last 4 reported years ran a deficit.

Leadership and staff
The officers, directors, trustees and key employees listed on each return. Joined and no longer listed compare each filing with the year before, matching people by surname and first initial; a year after a gap, or a roster under three people, has no comparison.
The chief executive listed changed between the FY2017 and FY2018 filings.
Who funds it, year by year
2019 → 2020: the base held at 1 funder, grant income fell $400k → $115k.
