01What it does

What Edgewood Alley Green does

Mission

To provide a safe, inclusive, and healthly recreational area for the community to enjoy, learn, and be inspired

As stated on its FY2023 Form 990-EZ.

Program

  1. Despite having a long history as a gathering place for the community, the area had not been well-maintained in the past, which had hidden its natural beauty. However, thanks to the efforts of the community, abandoned cars, dangerous waste, bulk trash, and overgrown weeds were removed. The roadways were paved, historic trees and canopies were preserved, and swings, benches, and children's recreation areas were installed. Additionally, a free library was built, and native perennials and trees were planted. The result is a beautiful and welcoming space that the entire community can enjoy. However, there is much more work to be done to ensure that this becomes a permanent and well-maintained green space for all.
