01What it does

What Crittenton Youth Services Inc does

Mission

Crittenton youth services, inc. Is located in mobile, alabama. The mission is to provide instruction to youth ages 10-14 in school classrooms or youth sites on the emotional and social skills that help youth learn to cope and become resilient in stressful and everyday life situations. High school juniors or seniors with good character and a desire to help their peers are nominated in 14 schools and interviewed by the crittenton staff. Approximately 40 are chosen to be ambassadors who teach the curriculum, health smarts, in the classrooms with our adult instructor.

As stated on its FY2024 Form 990-EZ.

Program

  1. Health smarts had a total of 1400 participants from september to april who participated in 7 sessions of instruction. Two ambassadors who need to earn extra money during the summer can be hired to teach in the summer youth sites with an adult instructor. Six summer sites such as boys and girls clubs, church youth groups, participate in the summer health smarts program. Auburn university measures the success of our program each year by comparing the youth pre and post-test data. Our results indicated that our participant sample scored higher in each of the 7 target areas which included: emotion knowledge, self confidence, social competence, commitment to avoid risky behavior, cooperative behavior, abuse awareness and resourcefulness. The average magnitude of the effect size for the improvements was a large effect on the youth participants ages 11-13.

From the IRS filings of CRITTENTON YOUTH SERVICES INC’s funders (the co-funder graph). Association, not causation. Trends are read to FY2023, the last fiscal year that has finished arriving. FY2024–FY2026 are still being filed and are shown unshaded; they do not move any figure on this page.

How concentrated its funding is

CRITTENTON YOUTH SERVICES INC leans on a few funders — its largest provides 59% of grant income and the top three 95%; half comes from just 1 funder.

the vertical line marks half of all grant income — 1 funder to its left

59% of the income these shares are computed over arrives through pass-through sponsors or from payers whose filings do not say what kind of payment it is. Concentration is still measured over all of it, because the money is real; what it does not support is a claim about how many institutions have chosen to fund CRITTENTON YOUTH SERVICES INC.
