What Creek Safe does
Mission
After the stoneman douglas high school shooting, beavercreek city schools held a safety meeting in april 2018 to inform parents of security measures and safety guidelines already in place in the school. A small group of parents asked what can we do to help you keep our kids safe? And with that an idea was born. Creek Safe is a non-profit organization dedicated to increasing safety measures in our schools. Of course, there is a cost to providing additional security. With our organization raising money for this cause, beavercreek city schools can focus funding on other areas.
As stated on its FY2024 Form 990.
Programs
Because of the generosity and support of our beavercreek friends, Creek Safe was able to complete the initial goal of raising 60,000 to purchase over 330 anchorman locks for every elementary school classroom door. The bellbrook fence company graciously offered their services to provide installation of each of these locks. Thank you, bellbrook fence all of the elementary school locks have been installed as of january 2019. Creek Safe launched the phase two goal in december 2018. Phase twos goal is to raise an additional 70,000 to cover the purchase and installation of about 380 anchorman locks for each classroom door in ankeney middle school, coy middle school, ferguson hall and beavercreek high school. This goal breaks down to about 20 for every secondary student in our district. This goal was accomplished and finalized january 2021. Creek Safes mission is to ensure that there is an additional level of security for every student in the beavercreek city schools. Please join us in making this vision a reality. See below for more information on how you can help us.
Beavercreek city schools has asked us to partner with us to raise funds to purchase 3m safety and security window film for high profile glass in the schools. This specialized product makes glass bullet resistant. Beavercreek city schools has already purchased and installed this film in their highest priority areas so we are joining them for phase 2 of the project. Phase 2 is expected to cost 88,227.00. The total for each age level is: pre-k/elementary: 40,773 (10.76 per student) middle school: 18,492 (10.55 per student) ferguson/hs: 28,962 (12.56 per student) beavercreek city schools has also expressed the need for stop the bleed bags in multiple areas of each school. These bags provide quick first aid to provide the necessities to provide emergency treatment until first responders arrive. The total price for this project is 7,580.

The organization over time
Each line starts at 100 in 2018, so what you read is the shape rather than the size: 150 means half as much again as 2018, 50 means half. The number beside each label in the key is where it ended. The shaded band is where the middle 50% of its peers' revenue would sit, given their growth.
Balance sheet
Total assets and total liabilities at each year end, in dollars. The largest one-year move in total assets was 2020 to 2021, from $26k to $2k (−94%).
How it's funded, over time
Each bar is one year's revenue split into where it came from, and every bar is the same height — these are shares, not amounts, so a year that raised twice as much looks the same size. Hover a bar for the split.
99% of CREEK SAFE’s revenue is contributions — more donation-reliant than the typical peer (99% for the typical peer).

Who funds it, year by year
2020 → 2023: the base held at 1 funder, grant income rose $48 → $55.
1 of 2 of your funders are donor-advised or pass-through sponsors (tagged DAF) — 60% of grant dollars received. That money is really individual donors directing a sponsor; the institutions to cultivate are the non-DAF funders.
From the IRS filings of CREEK SAFE’s funders (the co-funder graph). Association, not causation. Trends are read to FY2023, the last fiscal year that has finished arriving. FY2024–FY2026 are still being filed and are shown unshaded; they do not move any figure on this page.
How concentrated its funding is
CREEK SAFE leans on a few funders — its largest provides 60% of grant income and the top three 100%; half comes from just 1 funder.
the vertical line marks half of all grant income — 1 funder to its left
60% of the income these shares are computed over arrives through pass-through sponsors or from payers whose filings do not say what kind of payment it is. Concentration is still measured over all of it, because the money is real; what it does not support is a claim about how many institutions have chosen to fund CREEK SAFE.
Largest funder’s share by year: 2020 100% · 2021 100% · 2022 100% · 2023 100% — broadly stable.
“Effective funders” = inverse Herfindahl index (1 / Σ shareᵢ²) — the number of equal-sized funders that would give the same concentration. Trends are read to FY2023, the last fiscal year that has finished arriving. FY2024–FY2026 are still being filed and are shown unshaded; they do not move any figure on this page.
Where its funders are
60% of CREEK SAFE's grant income arrives through donor-advised or pass-through sponsors, whose addresses record where the money is held rather than where the donor is. Of the $160 that is directly attributable, 100% of it comes from funders outside Ohio, across 1 state.
Funder states come from each funder’s own filing. $243 arriving through sponsors registered in 1 state is excluded from the map and the split above: a sponsor holds money on a donor’s behalf, so its registered address would place those dollars somewhere no donor need ever have been. Trends are read to FY2023, the last fiscal year that has finished arriving. FY2024–FY2026 are still being filed and are shown unshaded; they do not move any figure on this page.
