What Chronic Illness Recovery does
Mission
Chronic Illness Recovery exists to promote and support recovery from chronic illness through physician services, patient counseling, informational materials, seminars, research and participation in public health policy design.
As stated on its FY2024 Form 990.
Programs
Chronic Illness Recovery has continued our mission of providing information about the science of inflammation therapy and vitamin d research. We attended the clinical microbiology and infectious disease conference in november of 2023 in rome where our presentation title intracellular bacteria cause chronic disease by altering the innate immune response was well received and resulted in meaningful professional contacts.
$73,560 spent30% of program spendingDuring 2023, Chronic Illness Recovery continued to advise patients enrolled in our counseling program which serves as an adjunct to the care provided by their physicians. Our service provides information and support between visits with their medical provider. It includes identifying and managing symptoms, learning about symptoms self-assessment, coping with stressors related to chronic illness, organizing and managing medication, and assessing their progress on inflammation therapy. We communicate with the prescribing physician when necessary and offer educational scientific references. We also offer a free consultation and communicate by email or phone with people worldwide who are interested in our services.
$121,381 spent50% of program spendingOur user-friendly Chronic Illness Recovery website provides information about inflammation therapy and related topics to patients in our counseling program. It also provides current scientific information about chronic inflammation and vitamin d to the public. A private library of scientific articles is maintained for medical professionals. The latest research on vitamin d is available on our facebook page where we also answer questions from the public.

The organization over time
Each line starts at 100 in 2017, so what you read is the shape rather than the size: 150 means half as much again as 2017, 50 means half. The number beside each label in the key is where it ended. The shaded band is where the middle 50% of its peers' revenue would sit, given their growth.
Balance sheet
Total assets and total liabilities at each year end, in dollars. The largest one-year move in total assets was 2021 to 2022, from $638k to $496k (−22%).
How it's funded, over time
Each bar is one year's revenue split into where it came from, and every bar is the same height — these are shares, not amounts, so a year that raised twice as much looks the same size. Hover a bar for the split.
0% of CHRONIC ILLNESS RECOVERY’s revenue is contributions — more earned-revenue than three-quarters of its peers (82% for the typical peer).

Who funds it, year by year
2020 → 2023: the base held at 1 funder, grant income fell $34 → $21.
1 of 1 of your funders are donor-advised or pass-through sponsors (tagged DAF) — 100% of grant dollars received. That money is really individual donors directing a sponsor; the institutions to cultivate are the non-DAF funders.
From the IRS filings of CHRONIC ILLNESS RECOVERY’s funders (the co-funder graph). Association, not causation. Trends are read to FY2023, the last fiscal year that has finished arriving. FY2024–FY2026 are still being filed and are shown unshaded; they do not move any figure on this page.
Where its funders are
100% of CHRONIC ILLNESS RECOVERY's grant income arrives through donor-advised or pass-through sponsors, whose addresses record where the money is held rather than where the donor is. Too little is directly attributable to place on a map.
Funder states come from each funder’s own filing. $86 arriving through sponsors registered in 1 state is excluded from the map and the split above: a sponsor holds money on a donor’s behalf, so its registered address would place those dollars somewhere no donor need ever have been. Trends are read to FY2023, the last fiscal year that has finished arriving. FY2024–FY2026 are still being filed and are shown unshaded; they do not move any figure on this page.
