01What it does

What Changing Destiny Project Inc does

Mission

Our mission is to empower and educate vulnerable women and children affected by injustices like abuse, neglect, human trafficking, poverty and no access to education.

As stated on its FY2024 Form 990.

Programs

  1. In 2024, we provided educational support to 170 students, comprising 105 girls and 65 boys, ranging from kindergarten through 12th grade (ages 4?18). The children come from Nepali and Indian backgrounds. This year, we expanded opportunities for holistic development by introducing off-campus outings, as well as extracurricular activities such as volleyball, horse riding, basketball, football, taekwondo, boxing, chess, Nature Club, Art Club, and excursions. These activities helped promote teamwork, confidence, and physical well-being.

  2. We were honored to host three international volunteer teams in 2024. The first group consisted of 4 members from Pennsylvania, the second 2 from Europe, and the third 5 from Texas, USA. These teams actively engaged with the children through interactive play and relationship-building, creating moments of joy and encouragement for the students.

  3. Our outreach team led beauty training programs and conducted visits to over 500 homes of women impacted by trafficking. Many women expressed a heartfelt desire for their children to be rescued from brothel environments and given access to transformational education. These interactions reaffirmed the urgent need for long-term investment in restoration, dignity, and future opportunities for these families.

03Who funds it

Who funds it, year by year

2019 → 2023: the base broadened from 1 funder to 6 funders, grant income rose $13k → $175k.

4 of 10 of your funders are donor-advised or pass-through sponsors (tagged DAF) — 18% of grant dollars received. That money is really individual donors directing a sponsor; the institutions to cultivate are the non-DAF funders.

From the IRS filings of Changing Destiny Project Inc’s funders (the co-funder graph). Association, not causation. Trends are read to FY2023, the last fiscal year that has finished arriving. FY2024–FY2026 are still being filed and are shown unshaded; they do not move any figure on this page.

How concentrated its funding is

Changing Destiny Project Inc leans on a few funders — its largest provides 57% of grant income and the top three 84%; half comes from just 1 funder.

the vertical line marks half of all grant income — 1 funder to its left

42% of the income these shares are computed over arrives through pass-through sponsors or from payers whose filings do not say what kind of payment it is. Concentration is still measured over all of it, because the money is real; what it does not support is a claim about how many institutions have chosen to fund Changing Destiny Project Inc.

Largest funder’s share by year: 2019 100% · 2020 43% · 2021 55% · 2022 35% · 2023 66% — diversifying over time.

“Effective funders” = inverse Herfindahl index (1 / Σ shareᵢ²) — the number of equal-sized funders that would give the same concentration. Trends are read to FY2023, the last fiscal year that has finished arriving. FY2024–FY2026 are still being filed and are shown unshaded; they do not move any figure on this page.

How long its funders stay

60% of Changing Destiny Project Inc's funders are still giving 3 years after their first grant; 70% give in more than one year at all.

Share of funders still giving k years after their first recorded grant, pooled across every acquisition cohort. A funder counts as retained in a year only if it made a grant that year. Measured to FY2023, the last fiscal year that has finished arriving — a funder cannot be counted as lapsed in a year most filers have not reached.

Funder states come from each funder’s own filing. $119k arriving through sponsors registered in 4 states is excluded from the map and the split above: a sponsor holds money on a donor’s behalf, so its registered address would place those dollars somewhere no donor need ever have been.
