Mission

Performing arts inspiration for all generations. Youth education, family engagement, and community connections.

As stated on its FY2024 Form 990.

Programs

  1. Summer Camp Workshops: Four workshops were held from June to August 2024, benefiting over 100 youth ages 4 to 18. These workshops required the help of production staff and volunteers. Each workshop offered students an opportunity to learn, create and grow - not just in theater, but also in visual arts, writing, public speaking, and teamwork. Curriculum integrates hands-on learning experiences in set design and construction, lighting and sound science, theater management, marketing, and related technical fields. Workshops also offered college students an earned income, to cultivate a new generation of leadership in the performing arts. This program also offered scholarships in the form of discounts to participants who requested financial aid.

  2. Capital Campaign: Design for a new community theatre with Circuit of the Northwest and Port of Bremerton continued at our new location in Bremerton, WA, throughout 2024. Revenue from community campaign and major gifts was only $300, leaving us with negative income for this project/program for the 2024 operating year due to program overhead expenses.

Main Stage Shows: One family-friendly musical theater production presented to the Kitsap County community, hosted by Olympic College in November 2024, benefiting 50 actors, actresses, production staff, and volunteers, as well as over 1,000 patrons. We cast families in productions and recruit relatives to help with lighting, sound, costumes, and set design. Our core focus is on strengthening intergenerational bonds on-stage and off-stage while building confidence, skills and values in local youth.

2 of 3 of your funders are donor-advised or pass-through sponsors (tagged DAF) — 83% of grant dollars received. That money is really individual donors directing a sponsor; the institutions to cultivate are the non-DAF funders.

From the IRS filings of Central Stage Theatre of County Kitsap’s funders (the co-funder graph). Association, not causation. Trends are read to FY2023, the last fiscal year that has finished arriving. FY2024–FY2026 are still being filed and are shown unshaded; they do not move any figure on this page.

How concentrated its funding is

Central Stage Theatre of County Kitsap leans on a few funders — its largest provides 83% of grant income and the top three 100%; half comes from just 1 funder.

the vertical line marks half of all grant income — 1 funder to its left

83% of the income these shares are computed over arrives through pass-through sponsors or from payers whose filings do not say what kind of payment it is. Concentration is still measured over all of it, because the money is real; what it does not support is a claim about how many institutions have chosen to fund Central Stage Theatre of County Kitsap.

Largest funder’s share by year: 2017 83% · 2020 100% · 2021 100% · 2022 100% · 2023 100% — growing more concentrated.

“Effective funders” = inverse Herfindahl index (1 / Σ shareᵢ²) — the number of equal-sized funders that would give the same concentration. Trends are read to FY2023, the last fiscal year that has finished arriving. FY2024–FY2026 are still being filed and are shown unshaded; they do not move any figure on this page.

Where its funders are

83% of Central Stage Theatre of County Kitsap's grant income arrives through donor-advised or pass-through sponsors, whose addresses record where the money is held rather than where the donor is. Of the $50k that is directly attributable, 100% of it comes from Washington funders.

WA

Funder states come from each funder’s own filing. $250k arriving through sponsors registered in 1 state is excluded from the map and the split above: a sponsor holds money on a donor’s behalf, so its registered address would place those dollars somewhere no donor need ever have been. Trends are read to FY2023, the last fiscal year that has finished arriving. FY2024–FY2026 are still being filed and are shown unshaded; they do not move any figure on this page.
