01What it does

What Caleb Corps Inc does

Mission

We are a research and training organization for Seventh-day Adventist missionaries. Our purpose is to prepare Christians to meet the needs of their communities. By meeting people's needs, we hope to achieve our ultimate goal of reflecting God's love to the world.

As stated on its FY2024 Form 990.

Programs

On its FY2024 return the organization reported starting a significant new program and a significant change in how it conducts a program.

Ultimate Mission is conducting a year-long research project in rural Ethiopia to evaluate the prevalence and underlying causes of diarrhea, anemia, and malnutrition among women and children. Working through our trained Healthy Heart village health workers, the study is collecting baseline health data, assessing nutrition and sanitation practices, and monitoring improvements as families receive targeted health education and simple, sustainable interventions. The findings will provide reliable, community-level evidence to guide more effective health programs, strengthen maternal-child health efforts, and help local leaders reduce preventable illness. Ultimately, this project will equip communities with the knowledge and tools needed to improve long-term health, break cycles of disease, and raise the overall quality of life for vulnerable families. This is primarily being funded by a grant for this project.

Its own explanation, from Schedule O of that return (Part III, line 2).

The Healthy Heart program in the United States has become almost entirely supported by volunteers outside of the organization. They have taken the plan as designed by Ultimate Mission but are running it independantly.

  1. Ultimate Mission trains and equips indigenous women to train mothers how to prevent childhood illness and mortality in developing nations. We support 300 paid workers doing over 400,000 health visits a year as well as volunteers that do thousands more. We now have workers operating in India, Nepal, Ethiopia, South Sudan and the Philippines.

Each line starts at 100 in 2021, so what you read is the shape rather than the size: 150 means half as much again as 2021, 50 means half. The number beside each label in the key is where it ended. The shaded band is where the middle 50% of its peers' revenue would sit, given their growth.

2 of 3 of your funders are donor-advised or pass-through sponsors (tagged DAF) — 9% of grant dollars received. That money is really individual donors directing a sponsor; the institutions to cultivate are the non-DAF funders.

Funder states come from each funder’s own filing. $7k arriving through sponsors registered in 2 states is excluded from the map and the split above: a sponsor holds money on a donor’s behalf, so its registered address would place those dollars somewhere no donor need ever have been.
