What Breman Development Foundation does
Mission
The Breman Development Foundation is a nonprofit organization dedicated to the economic development of the breman traditional area in the central region of the republic of ghana. The mission of this foundation is to seek resources and raise funds to support initiatives that will provide health care, basic education, workforce development and community facilities such as a public library for the people in the traditional area.
As stated on its FY2024 Form 990-EZ.
Program
The foundations primary focus is to hold fundraising activities and events in the united states of america for the purpose of securing resources to support the initiatives described above. It will set up fundraising activities online as well as at physical events. It will solicit grants from other foundations to support its mission. Proceeds from all fund- raising activities shall be used to support activities identified and supported by our sister non-governmental organization (ngo) Breman Development Foundation (bdf) in ghana. In addition to the construction of a community public library, other anticipated projects are the construction of a community center, a durbar ground, conference center, expanding elementary, middle and secondary school infrastructure, ending teen pregnancy, improving the breman asikuma hospital and providing equipment and supplies for the health centers in the district including jamra, kuntunanse and benin. Some furniture and books were shipped to the library that we built last year.

The organization over time
Each line starts at 100 in 2023, so what you read is the shape rather than the size: 150 means half as much again as 2023, 50 means half. The number beside each label in the key is where it ended. The shaded band is where the middle 50% of its peers' revenue would sit, given their growth.
Balance sheet
Total assets at each year end, in dollars. The largest one-year move in total assets was 2023 to 2024, from $24k to $2k (−91%).
How it's funded, over time
Each bar is one year's revenue split into where it came from, and every bar is the same height — these are shares, not amounts, so a year that raised twice as much looks the same size. Hover a bar for the split.
100% of BREMAN DEVELOPMENT FOUNDATION’s revenue is contributions — more reliant on donations than three-quarters of its peers (100% for the typical peer).
Surplus & reserves
Operating surplus or deficit each year, and months of liquidity in hand. 2 of the last 2 reported years ran a deficit.
Who funds it, year by year
Grant support over time, funder by funder — shade shows the grant size each year.
1 of 1 of your funders are donor-advised or pass-through sponsors (tagged DAF) — 100% of grant dollars received. That money is really individual donors directing a sponsor; the institutions to cultivate are the non-DAF funders.
From the IRS filings of BREMAN DEVELOPMENT FOUNDATION’s funders (the co-funder graph). Association, not causation. Trends are read to FY2023, the last fiscal year that has finished arriving. FY2024–FY2026 are still being filed and are shown unshaded; they do not move any figure on this page.
Where its funders are
100% of BREMAN DEVELOPMENT FOUNDATION's grant income arrives through donor-advised or pass-through sponsors, whose addresses record where the money is held rather than where the donor is. Too little is directly attributable to place on a map.
Funder states come from each funder’s own filing. $50k arriving through sponsors registered in 1 state is excluded from the map and the split above: a sponsor holds money on a donor’s behalf, so its registered address would place those dollars somewhere no donor need ever have been. Trends are read to FY2023, the last fiscal year that has finished arriving. FY2024–FY2026 are still being filed and are shown unshaded; they do not move any figure on this page.
