What Breast Cancer Move Foundation does
Mission
The Breast Cancer Move Foundation is a nonprofit organization dedicated to supporting individuals affected by breast cancer through education, empowerment, and year-round resources. Our mission is to shift the focus beyond October by providing ongoing advocacy, emotional support, wellness programming, and practical tools to help survivors and their families navigate the full spectrum of their cancer journey. We aim to raise awareness about the long-term impact of breast cancer, promote early detection, and reduce disparities in access to care-particularly for underserved communities. Through workshops, movement-based wellness activities, support groups, and digital outreach, we foster a holistic approach to survivorship, healing, and quality of life. The Foundation operates exclusively for charitable and educational purposes under Section 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code.
As stated on its FY2025 Form 990-EZ.
Programs
In 2025, the Breast Cancer Move Foundation (BCMF), in collaboration with five dedicated volunteers, assembled and delivered 120 care packages to breast cancer patients undergoing radiation, chemotherapy, physical therapy, and participating in support groups. These packages were distributed to both military and civilian individuals across the Washington Capital Region, providing comfort, encouragement, and essential wellness items to support them through treatment and recovery.
$0 spentResources, Access, and Service Navigation: In 2025, The Breast Cancer Move Foundation (BCMF) provided critical resources and service navigation support to individuals who connected with the organization through partner websites and online listings. These contacts included military veterans, breast cancer survivors, individuals actively undergoing treatment, as well as members of churches, fraternities, sororities, and healthcare provider networks. Through these connections, BCMF helped clients access educational materials, support services, and referrals tailored to their unique breast cancer journey.
$0 spentBreast cancer education remains a core focus of The Breast Cancer Move Foundation (BCMF), with an emphasis on the life-saving importance of early detection-particularly as more young women are being diagnosed. In 2025, BCMF prioritized outreach to communities of color and individuals for whom English is not their first language, ensuring that accurate, culturally sensitive information is accessible and actionable. BCMF works to dispel fear and stigma surrounding breast cancer, encouraging individuals to view education and screening not as punishment, but as powerful tools for survival and empowerment. The Foundation support several local community events within the DMV area.

The organization over time
Each line starts at 100 in 2020, so what you read is the shape rather than the size: 150 means half as much again as 2020, 50 means half. The number beside each label in the key is where it ended. The shaded band is where the middle 50% of its peers' revenue would sit, given their growth.
Balance sheet
Total assets and total liabilities at each year end, in dollars. The largest one-year move in total assets was 2022 to 2023, from $25k to $13k (−47%).
How it's funded, over time
Each bar is one year's revenue split into where it came from, and every bar is the same height — these are shares, not amounts, so a year that raised twice as much looks the same size. Hover a bar for the split.
0% of BREAST CANCER MOVE FOUNDATION’s revenue is contributions — more earned-revenue than three-quarters of its peers (100% for the typical peer).

Who funds it, year by year
2020 → 2023: the base held at 1 funder, grant income rose $7 → $42.
1 of 1 of your funders are donor-advised or pass-through sponsors (tagged DAF) — 100% of grant dollars received. That money is really individual donors directing a sponsor; the institutions to cultivate are the non-DAF funders.
From the IRS filings of BREAST CANCER MOVE FOUNDATION’s funders (the co-funder graph). Association, not causation. Trends are read to FY2023, the last fiscal year that has finished arriving. FY2024–FY2026 are still being filed and are shown unshaded; they do not move any figure on this page.
Where its funders are
100% of BREAST CANCER MOVE FOUNDATION's grant income arrives through donor-advised or pass-through sponsors, whose addresses record where the money is held rather than where the donor is. Too little is directly attributable to place on a map.
Funder states come from each funder’s own filing. $147 arriving through sponsors registered in 1 state is excluded from the map and the split above: a sponsor holds money on a donor’s behalf, so its registered address would place those dollars somewhere no donor need ever have been. Trends are read to FY2023, the last fiscal year that has finished arriving. FY2024–FY2026 are still being filed and are shown unshaded; they do not move any figure on this page.
