01What it does

What Beagle Rescue Inc does

Mission

1. Rescue homeless and unwanted hounds & other dogs as space permits. 2. Vaccinate all rescues against disease & provide needed health care. 3. Fight pet overpopulation by spaying or neutering all rescues. 4. Adopt rescues to responsible and loving new homes. 5. Provide lifetime shelter and care to any rescued dog that is not adopted.

As stated on its FY2023 Form 990.

Program

  1. For the year , around 300 beagles and other hound dogs were rescued and placed in new homes. Upon rescue, each dog is given a medical examination and treatment for any medical problems. All vaccinations are updated based on the available history of the dog. Each dog is spayed or neutered to assist in the fight against pet overpopulation. The dogs temperaments and personalities are matched with other similar dogs to emphasize socialization and retraining. All dogs have a lifetime sanctuary until adoption, in accordance with a no-kill policy.

03Who funds it

Who funds it, year by year

2018 → 2023: the base broadened from 2 funders to 4 funders, grant income rose $1k → $8k.

3 of 8 of your funders are donor-advised or pass-through sponsors (tagged DAF) — 85% of grant dollars received. That money is really individual donors directing a sponsor; the institutions to cultivate are the non-DAF funders.

From the IRS filings of BEAGLE RESCUE INC’s funders (the co-funder graph). Top 7 of 8 funders by total. Association, not causation. Trends are read to FY2023, the last fiscal year that has finished arriving. FY2024–FY2026 are still being filed and are shown unshaded; they do not move any figure on this page.

How concentrated its funding is

BEAGLE RESCUE INC leans on a few funders — its largest provides 57% of grant income and the top three 85%; half comes from just 1 funder.

the vertical line marks half of all grant income — 1 funder to its left

85% of the income these shares are computed over arrives through pass-through sponsors or from payers whose filings do not say what kind of payment it is. Concentration is still measured over all of it, because the money is real; what it does not support is a claim about how many institutions have chosen to fund BEAGLE RESCUE INC.

Largest funder’s share by year: 2018 86% · 2019 93% · 2020 100% · 2021 94% · 2022 92% · 2023 70% — diversifying over time.

“Effective funders” = inverse Herfindahl index (1 / Σ shareᵢ²) — the number of equal-sized funders that would give the same concentration. Trends are read to FY2023, the last fiscal year that has finished arriving. FY2024–FY2026 are still being filed and are shown unshaded; they do not move any figure on this page.

Where its funders are

85% of BEAGLE RESCUE INC's grant income arrives through donor-advised or pass-through sponsors, whose addresses record where the money is held rather than where the donor is. Of the $7k that is directly attributable, 82% of it comes from California funders.

California out of state home

Funder states come from each funder’s own filing. $41k arriving through sponsors registered in 3 states is excluded from the map and the split above: a sponsor holds money on a donor’s behalf, so its registered address would place those dollars somewhere no donor need ever have been. Trends are read to FY2023, the last fiscal year that has finished arriving. FY2024–FY2026 are still being filed and are shown unshaded; they do not move any figure on this page.
