01What it does

What Barron Creek Farm does

Mission

Barron Creek Farm is a small scale farm growing vegetables for our community. All of our fresh produce is donated. We work with local non profits food banks and other community service groups who are already working and serving food insecure populations.

As stated on its FY2025 Form 990.

Programs

On its FY2025 return the organization reported a significant change in how it conducts a program.

In late 2024 Barron Creek Farm concluded operations at its Los Altos Hills location. Following an extensive search for a viable site within the San Francisco Bay Area that yielded no suitable results the Board of Directors expanded its search to other underserved communities throughout California. In mid-2025 the organization entered into a strategic partnership with North Coast United Methodist Church and successfully relocated its operations to Oceanside in San Diego County. 2025 served as a significant transitional period. Due to the logistical requirements of the relocation and the necessary lead time for infrastructure setup and crop establishment production and donation volumes were temporarily reduced. The organization is currently in the final stages of site preparation and expects to return to full operational capacity in the coming year.

Its own explanation, from Schedule O of that return (Part III, line 3).

  1. Transition to San Diego. The biggest program service accomplishment for 2025 was the transition of our farm from the San Francisco Bay Area Santa Clara county to Oceanside San Diego county. The move involved recruiting a new Executive Director finding appropriate land physically moving the structures equipment and tools to the new location finding new partners to support building and reassembling infrastructure greenhouses wash house etc. and of course establishing crops!

1 of 1 of your funders are donor-advised or pass-through sponsors (tagged DAF) — 100% of grant dollars received. That money is really individual donors directing a sponsor; the institutions to cultivate are the non-DAF funders.

From the IRS filings of Barron Creek Farm’s funders (the co-funder graph). Association, not causation. Trends are read to FY2023, the last fiscal year that has finished arriving. FY2024–FY2026 are still being filed and are shown unshaded; they do not move any figure on this page.

Where its funders are

100% of Barron Creek Farm's grant income arrives through donor-advised or pass-through sponsors, whose addresses record where the money is held rather than where the donor is. Too little is directly attributable to place on a map.

Funder states come from each funder’s own filing. $105k arriving through sponsors registered in 1 state is excluded from the map and the split above: a sponsor holds money on a donor’s behalf, so its registered address would place those dollars somewhere no donor need ever have been. Trends are read to FY2023, the last fiscal year that has finished arriving. FY2024–FY2026 are still being filed and are shown unshaded; they do not move any figure on this page.
