What Atlanta Committee for Progress Inc does
Mission
ACP is a group committed to identifying and providing leadership on selected issues important to driving the economic development of the city of Atlanta and for which the ACP's active involvement will make a major difference. The ACP has a bias for action and is committed to accomplishing this mission in the most effective way possible. Accordingly, the ACP operates based on the following principles:1. Focus principally on the city of Atlanta but coordinate its activities with other organizations to ensure maximum impact for the region as a whole.2. Focus on a limited number of issues critical to economic development.3. Work through existing organizations to accomplish its goals whenever possible.4. Address issues with analytical rigor, including the use of clear work plans, metrics, milestones, and deadlines.5. Make decisions through its board of directors, a member only body (no substitutes) consisting of Chief executive-level position.
As stated on its FY2024 Form 990.
Program
To collaborate with the City of Atlanta, Atlanta Technical College and Atlanta Public Schools and various other public and private institutions in order to advise on and support economic development; fiscal accountability; infrastructure and transportation; K-12 public education; technology and innovation; and culture/quality of life for all citizens of Atlanta.
The program described on its FY2025 Form 990.
The organization over time
Each line starts at 100 in 2017, so what you read is the shape rather than the size: 150 means half as much again as 2017, 50 means half. The number beside each label in the key is where it ended.
Balance sheet
Total assets and total liabilities at each year end, in dollars. The largest one-year move in total assets was 2022 to 2023, from $1.2M to $1.7M (+46%).
How it's funded, over time
Each bar is one year's revenue split into where it came from, and every bar is the same height — these are shares, not amounts, so a year that raised twice as much looks the same size. Hover a bar for the split.
Surplus & reserves
Operating surplus or deficit each year, and months of liquidity in hand. 2 of the last 8 reported years ran a deficit.

Leadership and staff
The officers, directors, trustees and key employees listed on each return. Joined and no longer listed compare each filing with the year before, matching people by surname and first initial; a year after a gap, or a roster under three people, has no comparison.
