What 4th Trimester Inc does
Mission
4th trimester is on a mission to transform the postpartum experience for new parents by giving them resources, community support, and advocating for their needs.
As stated on its FY2025 Form 990.
Programs
On its FY2025 return the organization reported starting a significant new program.
We support new mothers, parents, and birthing people during disasters, such as the recent la wildfires. Our goal is to provide a sense of normalcy by providing access to care, cash assistance, and essential resources during times of intense disruption. We issued our wildfire relief program beginning in january 2025, consisting of cash aid, essential item distribution, pro bono birth worker support and mental health funding.
Its own explanation, from Schedule O of that return (Part III, line 2).
The recent wildfires accelerated 4th trimester's expansion across los angeles county, deepening our support for new parents during a uniquely vulnerable time. Since our wildfire response began, we served nearly 900 parents and children, distributed more than $192,000 in cash grants to 184 recipients, and distributed more than 40,000 essential items in 2025. These services help families meet immediate needs so they can begin rebuilding and focus on their postpartum healing and infants. 4th trimester addresses new parents' needs, especially those facing hardship, by delivering wrap-around care that provides practical, emotional, and systems-level support timed to when families need them most.

The organization over time
Each line starts at 100 in 2023, so what you read is the shape rather than the size: 150 means half as much again as 2023, 50 means half. The number beside each label in the key is where it ended. The shaded band is where the middle 50% of its peers' revenue would sit, given their growth.
Balance sheet
Total assets and total liabilities at each year end, in dollars. The largest one-year move in total assets was 2023 to 2024, from $109k to $349k (+220%).
How it's funded, over time
Each bar is one year's revenue split into where it came from, and every bar is the same height — these are shares, not amounts, so a year that raised twice as much looks the same size. Hover a bar for the split.

Who funds it, year by year
Grant support over time, funder by funder — shade shows the grant size each year.
3 of 8 of your funders are donor-advised or pass-through sponsors (tagged DAF) — 12% of grant dollars received. That money is really individual donors directing a sponsor; the institutions to cultivate are the non-DAF funders.

Where its funders are
100% of 4TH TRIMESTER INC's grant income comes from California funders.
Funder states come from each funder’s own filing. $96k arriving through sponsors registered in 3 states is excluded from the map and the split above: a sponsor holds money on a donor’s behalf, so its registered address would place those dollars somewhere no donor need ever have been.
