Fiscal sponsor
An established charity that receives grants on behalf of a project without its own tax-exempt status.
A fiscal sponsor is a tax-exempt organization that accepts grants and donations for a project or group that does not have its own exempt status. The sponsor passes the money through to the project and handles the compliance.
In grant data a fiscal sponsor looks like a regranter: money lands on it and is then granted out, so the named recipient is not always the organization doing the work.
