The corporation is formed to alleviate poverty in developing countries through encouraging responsible and sustainable trade, particularly in the textile and apparel industry, and by improving the lives of indigent workers and their families in a specified labor sector. In furtherance of this charitable purpose, the corporation shall, by means of contributions or grants; providing, or contracting to provide, management support, technical assistance and other executive services; making, or encouraging the making of, investments, directly or through affiliated or non-affiliated entities.
