In a time of widespread mistrust, political division, and industry upheaval, journalists must have a new resolve: they must consider not just what they report, but how they find, frame, and tell stories about communities who are often inaccurately depicted in the media. Journalists often do not consider the perspectives of community members in how coverage is conceived, often leading to concepts and language that promote stereotypes, erase nuance, or highlight implicit bias.
