Funders to approach for Mess Arts

Primary exempt purpose: Mess Arts is dedicated to providing accessible, high-quality arts education to children in New Orleans, with a focus on youth leadership, safe spaces, and community. Our programs foster creativity, self-expression, and community engagement, ensuring that all children, regardless of financial or physical barriers, have the opportunity to participate in the arts. Out of school time programming: in 2024, Mess Arts served 390 children through engaging arts programs outside of school hours, offering a safe and creative space for kids to learn and grow. Scholarships: Mess Arts provided 24% of participants with scholarships with less community resources, half of those being from our single parent scholarship fund helping ensure that financial barriers do not prevent children from accessing arts education. Youth leadership events and community partnerships: our youth leadership initiatives include a kid-run art sale and a youth art gallery show at a prominent downtown gallery. These events empower young people to take on leadership roles and become true stakeholders in the program.
