Programs
Fish of sanibel-captiva: fish of sancap was launched over 40 years ago from the kitchens and vehicles of island residents, who wanted to make their sanibel-captiva community a better place to live, work and visit. Today, fish's goal continues to be offering services that can assist, educate and enrich neighbors' lives. They are able to continually meet the needs of the sanibel-captiva community through the help of volunteers and the generosity of donors with 86% of every dollar spent going directly to our programs and services. Since 1982 these islands have worked to take care of each other through good times and bad. Hurricane ian devastated the islands and fish took the lead in helping women and families get help needed.
$0 spentChr (community housing and resources), sanibel: chr is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization that provides affordable workforce housing on sanibel. Chr was formed in 1979 and has been serving sanibel for 43 years. Sanibel's affordable housing program was the first of its kind in the state of florida. Affordable housing makes living on sanibel possible for people that otherwise may not be able to, creates diversity on the island, and most importantly, gives a "hand up" to many deserving people. Sanibel's economy depends on the hundreds of people who provide services through island retail and other businesses. Workers who live on the island can be available at short notice and are able to be more reliable employees. Social and economic diversity is a priority for sanibel and a part of the sanibel plan. They believe no one should have to leave a familiar community because of age, disability or finances.
$0 spentHabitat for humanity, lee and hendry counties: habitat provides a path to affordable homeownership for low to moderate income earning families through financial counseling or purchasing an affordable home. The funding supports habitat's home-building efforts and the life-changing effects of homeownership for families. Women build engages women in the effort to provide safe and decent homes for families in need of affordable housing. By recruiting, educating and inspiring women to build, we can transform lives in our community. Through the success of women build over the last ten years, habitat has seen great growth with the program. Recipients are required to provide sweat equity, contribute to closing costs, and attend over 20 hours of classes covering homeowner education and financial literacy.

The organization over time
Each line starts at 100 in 2017, so what you read is the shape rather than the size: 150 means half as much again as 2017, 50 means half. The number beside each label in the key is where it ended. The shaded band is where the middle 50% of its peers' revenue would sit, given their growth.
Balance sheet
Total assets and total liabilities at each year end, in dollars. The largest one-year move in total assets was 2023 to 2024, from $71k to $108k (+52%).
How it's funded, over time
Each bar is one year's revenue split into where it came from, and every bar is the same height — these are shares, not amounts, so a year that raised twice as much looks the same size. Hover a bar for the split.
98% of ZONTA FOUNDATION OF SOUTHWEST FL INC’s revenue is contributions — more donation-reliant than the typical peer (65% for the typical peer).
Surplus & reserves
Operating surplus or deficit each year, and months of liquidity in hand. 4 of the last 9 reported years ran a deficit.
Who funds it, year by year
2020 → 2023: the base narrowed from 2 funders to 1 funder, grant income fell $10k → $34.
2 of 2 of your funders are donor-advised or pass-through sponsors (tagged DAF) — 100% of grant dollars received. That money is really individual donors directing a sponsor; the institutions to cultivate are the non-DAF funders.
From the IRS filings of ZONTA FOUNDATION OF SOUTHWEST FL INC’s funders (the co-funder graph). Association, not causation. Trends are read to FY2023, the last fiscal year that has finished arriving. FY2024–FY2026 are still being filed and are shown unshaded; they do not move any figure on this page.
How concentrated its funding is
ZONTA FOUNDATION OF SOUTHWEST FL INC leans on a few funders — its largest provides 98% of grant income and the top three 100%; half comes from just 1 funder.
the vertical line marks half of all grant income — 1 funder to its left
100% of the income these shares are computed over arrives through pass-through sponsors or from payers whose filings do not say what kind of payment it is. Concentration is still measured over all of it, because the money is real; what it does not support is a claim about how many institutions have chosen to fund ZONTA FOUNDATION OF SOUTHWEST FL INC.
Largest funder’s share by year: 2020 99% · 2021 100% · 2022 100% · 2023 100% — broadly stable.
“Effective funders” = inverse Herfindahl index (1 / Σ shareᵢ²) — the number of equal-sized funders that would give the same concentration. Trends are read to FY2023, the last fiscal year that has finished arriving. FY2024–FY2026 are still being filed and are shown unshaded; they do not move any figure on this page.
Where its funders are
100% of ZONTA FOUNDATION OF SOUTHWEST FL INC's grant income arrives through donor-advised or pass-through sponsors, whose addresses record where the money is held rather than where the donor is. Too little is directly attributable to place on a map.
Funder states come from each funder’s own filing. $10k arriving through sponsors registered in 2 states is excluded from the map and the split above: a sponsor holds money on a donor’s behalf, so its registered address would place those dollars somewhere no donor need ever have been. Trends are read to FY2023, the last fiscal year that has finished arriving. FY2024–FY2026 are still being filed and are shown unshaded; they do not move any figure on this page.
