01What it does

What Windsong Lane does

Mission

The Windsong Foundation is a non-profit organisation founded by creatives. We exist to champion artists by connecting them to essential mental spiritual health and wellness resources. In 2023 we piloted a songwriting camp led by music industry professionals that benefitted underserved teens in the community. The teens were shown how to process trauma through the vehicle of songwriting.

As stated on its FY2023 Form 990-EZ.

Programs

  1. We rented a studio and instruments to hold a songwriting camp for 10 underserved teens in the community. The rental expenses were $2,500. We paid two artists $2,500 each to teach songwriting and to help process trauma through the vehicle of songwriting. We also hired a video team that cost $750 and paid an engineer to record original songs at the end of the week for $500.

  2. We paid two local artists $600 each to perform at a church fundraiser that benefitted their local youth fund.

1 of 1 of your funders are donor-advised or pass-through sponsors (tagged DAF) — 100% of grant dollars received. That money is really individual donors directing a sponsor; the institutions to cultivate are the non-DAF funders.

From the IRS filings of WINDSONG LANE’s funders (the co-funder graph). Association, not causation. Trends are read to FY2023, the last fiscal year that has finished arriving. FY2024–FY2026 are still being filed and are shown unshaded; they do not move any figure on this page.

Where its funders are

100% of WINDSONG LANE's grant income arrives through donor-advised or pass-through sponsors, whose addresses record where the money is held rather than where the donor is. Too little is directly attributable to place on a map.

Funder states come from each funder’s own filing. $25k arriving through sponsors registered in 1 state is excluded from the map and the split above: a sponsor holds money on a donor’s behalf, so its registered address would place those dollars somewhere no donor need ever have been. Trends are read to FY2023, the last fiscal year that has finished arriving. FY2024–FY2026 are still being filed and are shown unshaded; they do not move any figure on this page.
