01What it does

What Western Palm Beach County Frm Bureau does

Mission

To promote, protect and represent the educational, social and business interests of the farmers of the county and to enhance the future of agriculture.

As stated on its FY2025 Form 990.

Programs

  1. Western Palm Beach County Farm Bureau sponsors a Sweet Corn Fiesta. It is a celebration of the growing season and a tribute to those who make it happen. It helps us promote our largest single product, sweet corn. Youth are educated on the importance that our county and state agriculture has on our community.

  2. At the South Florida Fair Western Palm Beach County Farm Bureau conducts tours for students. The South Florida Fair serves almost three quarters of a million patrons each year. We showcase agriculture with educational hands on displays and exhibits. Fresh produce is sold at the Farmer's Market and a portion of the proceeds are used for our Youth Scholarship program.

  3. Palm Beach County is sometimes referred to as the Winter Vegetable Capital of the United States. Commodities grown in the county include sugar cane, sweet corn, bell peppers, cucumbers, eggplant, Chinese vegetables. We use farm tours as an opportunity to showcase the diverse agricultural environment; economic impact agriculture has in Palm Beach County and allows community members to connect with local farmers. We try to educate attendees on the importance of supporting locally grown food and dispel any misnomers about farming operations.

Western Palm Beach County Frm Bureau leans on a few funders — its largest provides 90% of grant income and the top three 100%; half comes from just 1 funder.

the vertical line marks half of all grant income — 1 funder to its left

90% of the income these shares are computed over arrives through pass-through sponsors or from payers whose filings do not say what kind of payment it is. Concentration is still measured over all of it, because the money is real; what it does not support is a claim about how many institutions have chosen to fund Western Palm Beach County Frm Bureau.
