What Vsa Minnesota does
Mission
Vsa Minnesota, a member of the vsa affiliate network, a program of the john f. Kennedy center for the performing arts, is a statewide nonprofit organization dedicated to providing, promoting and creating quality art opportunities and avenues for people with disabilities in the areas of visual and media art, music, dance, theater, storytelling, and creative writing. The arts play an essential role in enriching lives and enhancing the learning skills, creativity, responsiveness, and social itneraction of persons with disabilities, as well as provide for the exchange of information and ideas.
As stated on its FY2018 Form 990.
Program
Educational programs and artist residencies: the school residency program brings visiting artists into classrooms around the state to provide participatory arts experiences to students with disabilities. Students in 7 schools participated in residencies this year. In addition, the artist ambassador program pairs the organization's arts in education coordinator with a minnesota artist with a disability to make classroom presentations focusing on building student awareness of the capabilities of people with disabilities in the arts. Students with and without disabilities in two locations served as audience members for these presentations.

The organization over time
Each line starts at 100 in 2017, so what you read is the shape rather than the size: 150 means half as much again as 2017, 50 means half. The number beside each label in the key is where it ended.
Balance sheet
Total assets and total liabilities at each year end, in dollars. The largest one-year move in total assets was 2017 to 2018, from $288k to $269k (−7%).
How it's funded, over time
Each bar is one year's revenue split into where it came from, and every bar is the same height — these are shares, not amounts, so a year that raised twice as much looks the same size. Hover a bar for the split.
Government-grant reliance: 2017 8% · 2018 12%. Grants only. Government contracts and fees sit inside program revenue.
Surplus & reserves
Operating surplus or deficit each year, and months of liquidity in hand. 1 of the last 2 reported years ran a deficit.

Leadership and staff
The officers, directors, trustees and key employees listed on each return. Joined and no longer listed compare each filing with the year before, matching people by surname and first initial; a year after a gap, or a roster under three people, has no comparison.

How concentrated its funding is
