01What it does

What Vineyard Arts Project Limited does

Mission

Vineyard Arts Project is an incubator for the creation of new work in dance and theater. An artistic residency space located on the beautiful island of Marthas Vineyard VAP provides visiting artists the necessary time accommodation and rehearsal space that allows them to focus solely on the development of their new work. We also support the next generation of artists and creators by partnering with young artist training programs.

As stated on its FY2024 Form 990.

Programs

  1. The theatrical residency program fosters the development of original theater and musical theater works by emerging writers and lyricists. These artists are given time and space to write as well as the opportunity to do a development workshop. There are companies that return each season along with NY Boston or LA companies selected by the Artistic Director and through an open call process.

03Who funds it

Who funds it, year by year

2017 → 2023: the base broadened from 1 funder to 2 funders, grant income rose $10k → $10k.

2 of 4 of your funders are donor-advised or pass-through sponsors (tagged DAF) — 10% of grant dollars received. That money is really individual donors directing a sponsor; the institutions to cultivate are the non-DAF funders.

From the IRS filings of Vineyard Arts Project Limited’s funders (the co-funder graph). Association, not causation. Trends are read to FY2023, the last fiscal year that has finished arriving. FY2024–FY2026 are still being filed and are shown unshaded; they do not move any figure on this page.
