What Venture Hall does
Mission
Venuture hall is organized and operated to provide public access to educational instruction, mentors, and training for individuals in the field of business entrepreneurship, primarily in the state of maine. Venture Hall will offer inclusive and publicly available educational programs, guidance, and connections to expert resources in order to equip current and aspiring entrepreneurs in the community with the knowledge, skills, and support necessary to develop and sustain high-impact ventures, also known as "startups".
As stated on its FY2017 Form 990.
Program
Startup accelerator - Venture Hall hosted a 3-month startup accelerator during the summer of 2017. Startups from across the country applied, 7 teams were accepted and 6 completed the program. In addition to a public demo day in which hundreds of community members were able to learn about the projects, over 100 subject matter experts from within the community were enlisted to support the startup teams, "activating" talent and expertise of inidividuals who do not usually have the opportunities to work on new innovative projects.

How concentrated its funding is
VENTURE HALL leans on a few funders — its largest provides 98% of grant income and the top three 100%; half comes from just 1 funder.
the vertical line marks half of all grant income — 1 funder to its left
98% of the income these shares are computed over arrives through pass-through sponsors or from payers whose filings do not say what kind of payment it is. Concentration is still measured over all of it, because the money is real; what it does not support is a claim about how many institutions have chosen to fund VENTURE HALL.
Largest funder’s share by year: 2017 97% · 2018 100% — growing more concentrated.
“Effective funders” = inverse Herfindahl index (1 / Σ shareᵢ²) — the number of equal-sized funders that would give the same concentration. Trends are read to FY2023, the last fiscal year that has finished arriving. FY2024–FY2026 are still being filed and are shown unshaded; they do not move any figure on this page.
