What Vallejo Choral Society does
Mission
Vallejo Choral Society is a non-profit performing arts organization whose mission is to foster a vibrant, diverse, and interactive choral community, educate our singers and audiences, and extend our reach to youth through our Student Scholarships and Campanelli Youth Chorus. Vallejo Choral Society produces outstanding concerts and gives its singers enriching opportunities to perform choral masterpieces, and in tough times, VCS keeps its extended choral community united, inspired, singing, and learning through innovative programming.
As stated on its FY2025 Form 990-EZ.
Program
For its 107th season, Vallejo Choral Society presented two, December concerts featuring Vivaldi Magnificat and Trumbore Magnificat. Additionally, VCS performed a Christmas concert for the Mare Island Naval Museum, also in December. In March 2025, VCS held a successful Spring Gala with choral works based on themes about the nature of love, including works by Florence Price, Carlos Guastavino, and Brahms' Liebeslieder Waltzer. To complete the season, the 45-member Choral Society produced two performances anchored with Vaughan Williams' Dona Nobis Pacem, with chamber orchestra and renowned guest soloists, presented at St. Pauls in Episcopal Church Benicia and the Springbrook Masonic Temple in Vallejo. Concert attendance for each performance described is about 100 audience guests. VCS joined two other Bay Area choruses under the direction of Eric Choate to reprise the Dona Nobis Pacem at a Candlelight concert in San Francisco, followed by a larger collaboration with full orchestra performance at Carnegie Hall in New York City. VCS also continued growing its youth chorus, Campanelli Children's Choir, in association with Greater Vallejo Recreation District. We had a total of 9 students…

The organization over time
Each line starts at 100 in 2023, so what you read is the shape rather than the size: 150 means half as much again as 2023, 50 means half. The number beside each label in the key is where it ended. The shaded band is where the middle 50% of its peers' revenue would sit, given their growth.
Balance sheet
Total assets and total liabilities at each year end, in dollars. The largest one-year move in total assets was 2023 to 2024, from $14k to $55k (+300%).
How it's funded, over time
Each bar is one year's revenue split into where it came from, and every bar is the same height — these are shares, not amounts, so a year that raised twice as much looks the same size. Hover a bar for the split.
55% of VALLEJO CHORAL SOCIETY’s revenue is contributions — about as donation-reliant as the typical peer (78% for the typical peer).

Who funds it, year by year
2020 → 2023: the base held at 1 funder, grant income fell $74 → $41.
1 of 1 of your funders are donor-advised or pass-through sponsors (tagged DAF) — 100% of grant dollars received. That money is really individual donors directing a sponsor; the institutions to cultivate are the non-DAF funders.
From the IRS filings of VALLEJO CHORAL SOCIETY’s funders (the co-funder graph). Association, not causation. Trends are read to FY2023, the last fiscal year that has finished arriving. FY2024–FY2026 are still being filed and are shown unshaded; they do not move any figure on this page.
Where its funders are
100% of VALLEJO CHORAL SOCIETY's grant income arrives through donor-advised or pass-through sponsors, whose addresses record where the money is held rather than where the donor is. Too little is directly attributable to place on a map.
Funder states come from each funder’s own filing. $236 arriving through sponsors registered in 1 state is excluded from the map and the split above: a sponsor holds money on a donor’s behalf, so its registered address would place those dollars somewhere no donor need ever have been. Trends are read to FY2023, the last fiscal year that has finished arriving. FY2024–FY2026 are still being filed and are shown unshaded; they do not move any figure on this page.
