What Unitas Ensemble Inc does
Mission
To highlight the diversity of Latin-American Arts and Culture through performance outreach education and the commissioning of new artistic output for orchestral ensemble.
As stated on its FY2022 Form 990-EZ.
Programs
Unitas Ensemble partnered with local presenter Celebrity Series of Boston to present a free concert for the community highlighting the premiere of two new works written expressly for both Unitas Ensemble and a local string program. The concert was a wonderful success with hundreds of families having the opportunity to experience live music for free. The professional musicians of Unitas also combined with local string students in a side-by-side performance.
$6,895 spent100% of program spendingUnitas continued to promote the work of Latin-American composers through the advertising and highlighting of key compositional figures in the classical music world via email and online distribution to our partners. Artistic Director Lina Gonzalez-Granados also uses her work as a conductor outside the work of Unitas Ensemble to help in the promotion of these composers.
$0 spent0% of program spendingUnitas Ensemble continues to connect with and research the possibility for engaging in the near future young composers of Latin-American heritage to write new works for our ensemble. It is our intention to identify these composers so that there works can eventually be promoted to the larger orchestra field and thus allow them to gain wider acceptance while continuing to use the platform of Unitas Ensemble in service of this goal.

The organization over time
Each line starts at 100 in 2021, so what you read is the shape rather than the size: 150 means half as much again as 2021, 50 means half. The number beside each label in the key is where it ended. The shaded band is where the middle 50% of its peers' revenue would sit, given their growth.
Balance sheet
Total assets and total liabilities at each year end, in dollars. The largest one-year move in total assets was 2021 to 2022, from $16k to $7k (−56%).
How it's funded, over time
Each bar is one year's revenue split into where it came from, and every bar is the same height — these are shares, not amounts, so a year that raised twice as much looks the same size. Hover a bar for the split.
0% of UNITAS ENSEMBLE INC’s revenue is contributions — more earned-revenue than three-quarters of its peers (78% for the typical peer).
Surplus & reserves
Operating surplus or deficit each year, and months of liquidity in hand. 2 of the last 2 reported years ran a deficit.
