What Union for International Cancer Control does
Mission
The Union for International Cancer Control (UICC) unites and supports the cancer community to reduce the global cancer burden, to promote greater equity, and to ensure that cancer control continues to be a priority in the world health and development agenda.
As stated on its FY2024 Form 990.
Programs
In 2024, the organisation's principal program activity was the planning and delivery of the World Cancer Congress, held in Geneva, Switzerland. The event brought together over 2,000 delegates representing more than 120 countries, including cancer professionals, researchers, policymakers, and patient advocates. Across more than 300 scientific and policy sessions, participants shared best practices and innovations in cancer prevention, diagnosis, treatment, and survivorship. The Congress strengthened international collaboration and capacity building in cancer control, aligning directly with the organization's exempt purpose to reduce the global burden of cancer through education, advocacy, and partnership.

The organization over time
Each line starts at 100 in 2019, so what you read is the shape rather than the size: 150 means half as much again as 2019, 50 means half. The number beside each label in the key is where it ended. The shaded band is where the middle 50% of its peers' revenue would sit, given their growth.
Balance sheet
Total assets and total liabilities at each year end, in dollars. The largest one-year move in total assets was 2021 to 2022, from $5.5M to $8.2M (+48%).
How it's funded, over time
Each bar is one year's revenue split into where it came from, and every bar is the same height — these are shares, not amounts, so a year that raised twice as much looks the same size. Hover a bar for the split.
Government-grant reliance: 2019 3% · 2020 1% · 2021 4% · 2022 5% · 2023 1% · 2024 0%. Grants only. Government contracts and fees sit inside program revenue.
13% of UNION FOR INTERNATIONAL CANCER CONTROL’s revenue is contributions — more donation-reliant than the typical peer (7% for the typical peer).
