Programs

  1. Performed maintenance on over 250 public trees in East Boston including watering, fertilizing, mulching, pruning and overall care. These actopns will prolong the life of these urban trees allowing them to add more shade to our streets, sequester carbon, absorb excess groundwater, provide wildlife habitat as well as reduce air and noise pollution. All 40,000 East Boston residents benefited from these actions.

  2. Launched a program for residents to receive free fruit trees and learn how to successfully grow their own fruit trees. This was done through a series of instructional workshops. We also performed maintenance to an orchard on city owned property and enlisted stewards to care for the trees. We distributed the fruit harvested back into the community. We planted over 50 fruit trees with over 150 residents participating in the program which benefited over 500 individuals.

  3. Planted over 130 trees in residents yards. Residents received care instructions and were provided a water bag. Each tree was mulched and staked. Homeowners agreed to water and care for the trees for a minimum of two afters after which they would be monitored and watered as needed. We organized the sourcing, transportation and planting of each tree.

How concentrated its funding is

TREE EASTIE INC leans on a few funders — its largest provides 77% of grant income and the top three 100%; half comes from just 1 funder.

the vertical line marks half of all grant income — 1 funder to its left

95% of the income these shares are computed over arrives through pass-through sponsors or from payers whose filings do not say what kind of payment it is. Concentration is still measured over all of it, because the money is real; what it does not support is a claim about how many institutions have chosen to fund TREE EASTIE INC.
