What The Lamoni Food Pantry does
Mission
The Lamoni Food Pantry was organized to address the needs of citizens in lamoni and davis city who are experiencing food insecurity and the effects of financial insecurities.
As stated on its FY2025 Form 990-EZ.
Programs
We serve on average 70 families per month who come to the pantry for supplemental food. Those families range from 1 person to 6 person families. About 60% of them are signed up for the government's snap program. Of the 40% left, some don't want to attempt the paperwork, while others make anywhere from $1 over the amount allowed or more. They choose the foods they receive from an order sheet of 88 items or more, which include personal care items, diapers, as well as perishable and nonperishable food items. Depending on how much a family orders they can get up to 80-90 pounds of food each month
$23,778 spent59% of program spendingThis program provides emergency funds for things like rent, utilities, and car repairs, etc. When families are in great need of help meeting monthly expenses. This program served about 23 families in 2025. The limit on usage per year is $500 per family. Some requests are for less money. This program involves an extensive interview process with the family, so we have an idea of the income and expenses. No money is ever given directly to the family but paid to a business.
$11,961 spent30% of program spendingThis program collects funds for school supplies (particular to each grade) to any student at our local school from pre-k through jr high school. Requested supplies are bought for each grade and put in sacks to be handed out at a school fair in september of each year. This program has been growing popularity these last 2 years as parents find it so convenient. We served students in 75 families in 2025 (149 students).

The organization over time
Each line starts at 100 in 2024, so what you read is the shape rather than the size: 150 means half as much again as 2024, 50 means half. The number beside each label in the key is where it ended. The shaded band is where the middle 50% of its peers' revenue would sit, given their growth.
Balance sheet
Total assets and total liabilities at each year end, in dollars. The largest one-year move in total assets was 2024 to 2025, from $427k to $434k (+2%).
How it's funded, over time
Each bar is one year's revenue split into where it came from, and every bar is the same height — these are shares, not amounts, so a year that raised twice as much looks the same size. Hover a bar for the split.
86% of THE LAMONI FOOD PANTRY’s revenue is contributions — about as donation-reliant as the typical peer (100% for the typical peer).
Surplus & reserves

Who funds it, year by year
2019 → 2023: the base broadened from 1 funder to 3 funders, grant income fell $8k → $8k.
4 of 4 of your funders are donor-advised or pass-through sponsors (tagged DAF) — 100% of grant dollars received. That money is really individual donors directing a sponsor; the institutions to cultivate are the non-DAF funders.
From the IRS filings of THE LAMONI FOOD PANTRY’s funders (the co-funder graph). Top 3 of 4 funders by total. Association, not causation. Trends are read to FY2023, the last fiscal year that has finished arriving. FY2024–FY2026 are still being filed and are shown unshaded; they do not move any figure on this page.
How concentrated its funding is
THE LAMONI FOOD PANTRY leans on a few funders — its largest provides 86% of grant income and the top three 100%; half comes from just 1 funder.
the vertical line marks half of all grant income — 1 funder to its left
100% of the income these shares are computed over arrives through pass-through sponsors or from payers whose filings do not say what kind of payment it is. Concentration is still measured over all of it, because the money is real; what it does not support is a claim about how many institutions have chosen to fund THE LAMONI FOOD PANTRY.
Largest funder’s share by year: 2019 100% · 2020 100% · 2021 100% · 2022 71% · 2023 99% — broadly stable.
“Effective funders” = inverse Herfindahl index (1 / Σ shareᵢ²) — the number of equal-sized funders that would give the same concentration. Trends are read to FY2023, the last fiscal year that has finished arriving. FY2024–FY2026 are still being filed and are shown unshaded; they do not move any figure on this page.
Where its funders are
100% of THE LAMONI FOOD PANTRY's grant income arrives through donor-advised or pass-through sponsors, whose addresses record where the money is held rather than where the donor is. Too little is directly attributable to place on a map.
Funder states come from each funder’s own filing. $60k arriving through sponsors registered in 3 states is excluded from the map and the split above: a sponsor holds money on a donor’s behalf, so its registered address would place those dollars somewhere no donor need ever have been. Trends are read to FY2023, the last fiscal year that has finished arriving. FY2024–FY2026 are still being filed and are shown unshaded; they do not move any figure on this page.
