01What it does

What The Lake Township Historical Society does

Mission

Our mission is to preserve this history of lake township through the collecting and displaying historical artifacts. We also sponsor programs on historical aspects of the township.

As stated on its FY2023 Form 990.

Programs

  1. Develop procedures and policies for acquiring, accepting, handling, categorizing, displaying, and preserving historical artifacts and items (especially those related to lake tpwnship). In addition to maintaining a small museum, The Lake Township Historical Society also maintains a historical one room school house. Both the museum and the school house are open to the public free of charge. Other tours and programs are set up for groups upon request.

  2. Organize and present two or three "fireside chats" each calendar year. These are free of charge to the public. The chats are informational in nature and based on the history of lake township. Various speakers are involved. Artifacts relevant to the presentation are usually displayed. At times a home tour is sponsored in place of a chat. In the past these tours have involved historical homes, buildings, barns, and churches.

  3. A newsletter is published several times a year to promote the organization's programs, projects, and purpose to the lake township population.

The 3 programs described on its FY2023 Form 990, listed largest first by expense. Program spending in total: $8,976.

1 of 1 of your funders are donor-advised or pass-through sponsors (tagged DAF) — 100% of grant dollars received. That money is really individual donors directing a sponsor; the institutions to cultivate are the non-DAF funders.

From the IRS filings of THE LAKE TOWNSHIP HISTORICAL SOCIETY’s funders (the co-funder graph). Association, not causation. Trends are read to FY2023, the last fiscal year that has finished arriving. FY2024–FY2026 are still being filed and are shown unshaded; they do not move any figure on this page.

Where its funders are

100% of THE LAKE TOWNSHIP HISTORICAL SOCIETY's grant income arrives through donor-advised or pass-through sponsors, whose addresses record where the money is held rather than where the donor is. Too little is directly attributable to place on a map.

Funder states come from each funder’s own filing. $173 arriving through sponsors registered in 1 state is excluded from the map and the split above: a sponsor holds money on a donor’s behalf, so its registered address would place those dollars somewhere no donor need ever have been. Trends are read to FY2023, the last fiscal year that has finished arriving. FY2024–FY2026 are still being filed and are shown unshaded; they do not move any figure on this page.
